Invitation to International Youth Camp of District 1850
THE EMSLAND-TROPHY GEOCACHING in North-West Germany By SUV - Bike- Segway -Canoe - and on foot Discover hidden treasures by bike, SUV, canoe, Segway and on foot using GPS
Our guests will stay with Rotarian families for 5 days and then join the party in the Meppen Youth Hostel for 9 days. We have a spectacular program planned in the towns and rivers of the area including an excursion to Groningen, NL, a visit to the Meyer Werft shipyard, a big power plant, gas- and oilfields, megalith graves and a historic Dutch fortification

HOSTING CLUBS: R.I.District 1850 Region 2: the Rotary Clubs of Meppen, Lingen, Haren, Friesoyte-Artland-Cloppenburg, Cloppenburg-Quakenbrueck, Huemmling zu Soegel, Loeningen-Hasetal-Haseluenne, Bersenbrueck-Altkreis, Papenburg
PARTICIPANTS: 15 – 20 boys and girls from EEMA Countries Age: 16 to 19 years
ACCOMMODATION: 5-day homestay with Rotarian families, 9 nights at Youth Hostel Meppen
CLOTHING, GEAR: Light casual clothes, raincoat, sweater, hiking shoes, backpack, swim suit. If available: bike helmet and GPS device or smartphone
THE MUSTS: Participants must have working knowledge of English. You must be able to swim and to ride a bike; for the Segway you will need your driving licen- se. Disabled participants are welcome (some portions of the program may not be suitable) ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE: By train: train stations in Meppen or Osnabrueck; By plane: Bremen (BRE) or Muenster-Osnabrueck (FMO) Airport;
From the airports of Duesseldorf (DUS) or Amsterdam/NL (AMS) there are suitable train connections to Meppen or Osnabrueck
Your host parents will pick you up in Meppen, Bremen, Osnabrueck or FMO.
INSURANCE: The participants will be covered by an insurance against accident, illness and third party liability

The District Youth Exchange Officers of the participating countries are requested to send the applications on Rotary forms for Short Term Exchange Program (STEP) to Juergen Finkenbusch before March 30, 2013.
