Install VMware on your home computer - Windows

Close all programs on your computer.

Launch your internet browser.

Go to: https://intranet.whatcom.ctc.edu

You will be prompted to enter your WCC user name and password. (You must enter the WCC\ before your user name.)

Click the OK button

When the home page opens, scroll down to Quick Links - VMware.

This is where you will find several download options. If you are unsure which version to choose, click the link: How to tell if your computer is running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Window

Once you click the version you need the download page will open.

Click RUN

Click YES

The Installation Wizard will open.

Click Next

Check the ‘I accept the terms in the license agreement’ box

Click Next

Click Next

If the Default View Connection Server box is blank, type in: desktop.whatcom.edu

Click Next

Click Next Click Next

Click Next

Click FINISH

You will have to RESTART YOUR COMPUTER To access your Virtual Desktop:

Open your internet browser. Once your computer is connected to the internet, minimize the browser. Click on the VMware Icon on your desktop.

Click on desktop.whatcom.edu

Enter your WCC network User Name and Password

Click LOGIN

Click on Windows 7 WCC

It may take a few minutes to load your remote desktop

If you close the application process

window, you will not

have access to your WCC software DO NOT CLOSE THIS BOX!! programs.

You can connect to a USB device by clicking on Connect USB Device & choosing the drive you want to connect to. You can change your WCC password by selecting Send Ctrl-Alt-Del and selecting Change Password.

**Please note that your customized wall paper or desktop shortcuts are not included when you connect to your View Desktop. **
