PERE VENTURA, TOP 100 WINERY OF THE YEAR

Wine & Spirits features PERE VENTURA amongst 2019 Top 100 Wineries by its exceptional performance PERE VENTURA will participate at the & Spirits 16th Annual Top 100 Tasting Event next October 10th in San Francisco

Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, September 2019. PERE VENTURA has been selected as a World Top Winery for its outstanding performance in Wine & Spirits blind- tastings this year. Winery founder and owner Pere Ventura has expressed his pride in receiving this recognition, which follows the line of the distinctions that the Group is obtaining consistently in all contests and public presentations. In Pere Ventura’s words, “Being in the World’s Top 100 highlights our commitment towards excellence and the consumer. The essence of PERE VENTURA has always been to craft Cava that people from all over the world would drink to celebrate the special moments in their lives. Being the only Spanish Cava producer selected by Wine & Spirits, PERE VENTURA shares positioning with wineries of the standing of R. López de Heredia, , E. Guigal, Penfolds, Bollinger and Krug, just to mention a few.

The Wine & Spirits panel and critics yearly blind taste more than 11,000 wines from around the world, presenting a selection of the most distinctive. Being included in the Top 100 Wineries means having wines rated with the highest scores and the most consistent showing throughout the year. These are recognized in the magazine’s annual Top 100 Wineries of the year issue. As editor of Wine & Spirits Magazine Joshua Greene announced through press release last September 20th “We took a different approach to our tasting this year by focusing on specific regions and delving deeper into them. Our concentrated tastings led to fiercer competition among the great wines of the world to earn a spot in our Top 100”. PERE VENTURA will be present at the 16th Annual Wine & Spirits Top 100 Tasting event on Thursday, October 10th, at City View at METREON in San Francisco. This is an exclusive event organized by Wine & Spirits to showcase the Top 100 Wineries. Chefs from Wine & Spirits SF50 restaurants will be at the event, preparing delicious food to match these remarkable wines.

PERE VENTURA, amongst Wine & Spirits 2019 highly recommended sparklers This news comes after Wine & Spirits Summer Special unvealed PERE VENTURA Cava amongst its 2019 Best Top Sparklers and Best Buys. VINTAGE Gran Reserva Brut 2014 is considered the Best Cava of the year with 94 points, followed shortly after by VINTAGE Gran Reserva Brut 2014 with outstanding 93 points. TRESOR RESERVA 2016 and TRESOR ROSÉ are highlighted as Best Buys with 91 and 90 points respectively. Offering wines from a unique location, PERE VENTURA aims for the best expression of the terroir and the respect for the land and the environment. As Pere Ventura points out, “Things well done have limitless potential. We understand Cava as the expression of the positive traits of its origin: the fine combination of vines and landscape, tradition and people. These endow identity to our Cava. PERE VENTURA VINTAGE ROSÉ 2014, Best Cava of the Year

VINTAGE ROSÉ Gran Reserva Brut is a Cava aged at least 43 months on its lees that sets a difference at a glance with its singular coppery red color and high aromatic expression. Following Wine & Spirits Panel of Taste description, “There’s freshness to the Pere Ventura wines, whether they’re young or old. This one has a sophisticated raspberry sweetness that comes up through its yeasty flavors, clean fruit emerging out of the scent of toasted almonds. The flavors last with complexity and a hint of smoke”.

VINTAGE Gran Reserva Brut unites the body and structure of the Xarel·lo with the floral and fruity qualities of the . Aged at least 43 months on its lees, it is a deliciously full bodied Cava of silky palate structure. As Wine & Spirits Panel of Taste describes, “Brisk and clean, this has the elegant integration of a finely grown Champagne, presented here with the umami flavors of the local grapes. Its toasty, leesy flavors bring to mind the saltiness of shaved Parmigiano. The bright ghost of the fruit makes it compelling”.

PERE VENTURA TRESOR COLLECTION, the treasures of Pere Ventura Vibrant and fragrant with a seductive palate and an elegant maturity, TRESOR Reserva Brut truly reflects the Winery´s modern and bold spirit as well as its dedication to the pursuit of excellence.

TRESOR Reserva is made of the traditional Cava blend of three indigenous grape varieties: Xarel·lo, Macabeu and . It is aged 24 to 30 months in its lees. “This wine’s fine mouse carries the fruit sweetness of a just-ripe white peach, the clarity of its flavor sustained by refreshing acidity. There’s an undertone of richness, taking notes of lemon flan into a jazz riff of bubbles”, describes Wine & Spirits Panel of Taste. TRESOR Reserva Brut 2016 has already been recognized as Best in Class Cava by Wine & Spirits San Diego Competition early this year. Now the magazine also features it as Best Buy with 91 points in its Special Summer edition.

TRESOR ROSÉ Brut is the finest expression of the , a native variety of the Conca de Barberà region. This Cava is aged 12 to 15 months to outline its fresh and lively red fruit aromas and palate. “Light and airy, this sparkling trepat tightens around scents of rosemary and spring roses.
