Tagline

Taglines are funny things. And people have all sorts of expectations for them. Sometimes they’re witty. Sometimes they’re sort of “duh”, I knew that already. And other times they tell the reader a little bit about what or how the company does what it does. Our tagline sort of does a little of both. The bottom line? Don’t mess with it, adjust it or tweak it. Just leave it alone and enjoy it. A lot of people spent a lot of time holed up in a conference room debating and drinking coffee to finally agree on this.

We get the world talking. When technology empowers rather than overpowers, we become capable of remarkable things. capable of remarkable become we than overpowers, rather empowers When technology

In early summer, once she has broken from her cocoon and spent a day or so in the huddle of her family, an adolescent cross spider feels ready to fly. She scuttles to some swatch of vegetation that faces outward—a leaf ridge, a twig—and she perches there. Then she lifts a significant fraction of her legs and pulls a silk strand from the spinnerets at the base of her abdomen. Ounce for ounce, that silk is five times the strength of reinforced steel and at least twice as strong as a human femur. When a June wind blows the silk strand into its current, she follows it with her body: a tiny balloon chasing its string. It is a journey that begins with a considerable jerk and ends only when her silk tether collides with a rooted object—a bush, a fence post. This could be a one-yard trip, or it could send her half a mile away. A half-mile journey to a cross spider is like a man catching a ANN HOOD wind from Milwaukee to Madison.

We saw what appeared to be a flare going straight up. As a matter of fact, we thought it was from a boat. It was a bright reddish-orange color. Once it went into flames I knew that it wasn’t a flare. —Lou Desyron, Flight 800 eyewitness; ABC World News Sunday; 07/21/96. peter grandbois
