Our business: Group operates bus, coach, rail, and tram services in the UK and North America and employs around 35,000 people. We are one of UK’s biggest bus and coach operators. Around 2.5 million passengers travel on Stagecoach's 8,100 buses every day on a network stretching from south-west to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. The company's business includes major city bus operations in London, , Newcastle, Hull, , , and . Stagecoach is also a major UK rail operator, running the , and networks. The Group is also a major tram operator, running a 28km system in Sheffield. In North America, Stagecoach businesses include commuter/transit services, inter-city services, tour and charter, sightseeing and school bus operations, principally through its Coach USA and brands. Stagecoach operates the market-leading budget inter-city coach service .com in around 60 locations in the UK and to 50 destinations in North America. It also offers low- cost travel through its .com and megabusplus.com brands. We also have a number of joint ventures, which provide rail, coach and sightseeing services: o : has a 49% shareholding in Virgin Rail Group (VRG), which operates the West Coast Trains rail franchise. o Coaches Limited: a joint venture between Stagecoach (35% shareholding) and international transport group ComfortDelGro (65% shareholding). It operates coach services in Scotland under the megabus.com and Scottish Citylink brands. o Twin America: Stagecoach and CitySights NY have a venture to operate sightseeing services in New under both the Gray Line and CitySights brands. The Group holds 60% of the economic rights and 50% of the voting rights in the joint venture.
