ROLE PROFILE JOB TITLE: Information & Book Centre Manager

LOCATION: 72 Main Street, Sedbergh

RESPONSIBLE TO: Sedbergh Community Interest Company Directors

JOB PURPOSE To manage day to day running of Sedbergh Information Centre RESPONSIBILITIES Manage all aspects of running the Information Centre: • Be responsible, personally and via the volunteers, for providing useful accurate information to members of the public to promote the local area • Keep up to date with developments in the local area in terms of transport, accommodation, businesses, events, attractions, activities etc • Organise the volunteer rota to ensure sufficient cover during opening hours • Provide support and general training to volunteers to provide a high quality service • Delegate tasks to volunteers where suitable and provide any necessary support and guidance to enable this • Ensure that information leaflets and posters are up to date and available • Be responsible for managing sales of goods in terms of suppliers, stock levels, sales area • Be responsible for managing dealer book sales • Monitor stationery needs and re-order when necessary • Be the point of contact for TIC enquiries • Monitor incoming emails and deal with or forward as required • Manage external services such as ticket sales and parking permits • Be responsible for cashing up and banking monies • Keep accommodation, business and events information up to date on sedbergh.org.uk • Attend CIC Director meetings and work with the Directors to ensure that the centre is run effectively • Attend any selected meetings that are TIC related and of importance to Sedbergh • Represent the TIC at Sedbergh website meetings • TICs in network – attend meetings where possible 2 or 3 times a year, keep in occasional touch with TICs in Appleby, , and Kirkby Lonsdale
