TITLE: Sport’s Coordinator

SPORTS: Jr. Olympic &

GENERAL DUTIES:

Manage and oversee designated duties within the Sports Department. Assist in retaining and creating new membership, event planning and operations, and marketing and promotions of selected sports. Assist with sport preparations for the AAU National Convention, events at ESPN Wide World of Sports, and all other assigned duties. All actions are in conjunction with the desires of each Committee. Act as the liaison between the AAU National Headquarters, Sport Managers, and National Sport Committees and Disney/ESPN Wide World of Sports.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience preferred with an emphasis in Physical , , Sports Administration or Marketing and at least 2 years’ experience in administration, organization and management of specific sports activities. The successful sports coordinator will be a self‐ starter, able to work independently to achieve vision and direction presented by the AAU National Officers and Director of Sports.

JOB SEGMENTS:

Sport Manager – General  Assist with management and oversee the day to day operation of AAU Junior with duties shared and assigned duties with Senior Sport Manager. (Baton Twirling, , Cheerleading, Field , , Jump Rope, Karate, Multi‐Events, , Sport Stacking, Swimming, Table , Taekwondo, Track & Field, Trampoline & Tumbling, Weightlifting, ).  Assist with management and oversee the day to day operation of AAU Volleyball with duties shared and assigned by Senior Sport Manager.  Update, create, review promotional items that include:  Flyers, entry packets, personal packet invites, eblasts, banners, posters and others that come up  Create facebook posts and plan the schedule for Social Media Coordinator to implement  Assist with updates of the AAU JO Games website and sport specific websites with JO information.  Assist with online registration setup, maintenance, and reconciliation of AAU JO Games events.  Assist with the organization and implementation of the AAU Junior Olympic Games. This includes but is not limited to:  Maintain a functioning line of communication between the National Office and District Sport Directors.  Supervise the organization and implementation of District Qualifiers, National Qualifiers and all National events.  Create short and long term goals for the sport programs.

Physical Abilities: Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
