• Train new/additional laboratory staff on ASF procedures (9) • YVDL (1): Ayeyarwady region- Pathein Lab. • MVDL (8): - Lab, Lashio Lab Muse Lab and Kyaington Lab. • Kachin state- Myitkyina Lab • Sagaing region- Monywa Lab • Magwe region- Magway Lab • Nay Pyi Taw Surveillance Active Sero Surveillance on High Risk Area; ✓ Started date (1-9-2018) to collected samples from border and high pig population places ✓ (1-3-2019 up to 15-3-2019): Test and validate sample collection protocol and LBVD field staff capability through sample collection drill (simulation exercise) to collect and transport samples from dead/sick pigs to MVDL and YVDL for ASF PCR testing ❖ Provide supplies for biosecurity kits to LBVD staff RISK ASSESSMENT • 30 June 2019: Hold ASF stakeholder meetings in each township (including table-top simulation exercise) High-risk townships based on rapid risk assessment (FAORAP regional projects) • Conduct a rapid risk assessment to further identify high risk areas and activities, and target intervention measures (24 Places); ❖ Myanmar-China border (9): Muse, Namhkan, Laukkaing, Lashio, Kengtung, Mongla, Myitkyina, Waingmaw and Bhamo Tsps. ❖ Myanmar-Thai border (4): Myawaddy, Myeik, Kawthoung and Tsps. ❖ Pig populated and risk States/Regions (8): Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Mandalay, Sagaing, Magway, Nay Pyi Taw, Shan ❖ International Airports (3): Yangon, Mandalay, NayPyiTaw FUTURE PLAN • Develop remaining key components of ASF emergency management plans • Conduct training on pig farm biosecurity, sample collection protocol and disease reporting for CAHW (from high-risk townships based on rapid risk assessment) • Accelerate intensive clinical surveillance and passive surveillance in all farming types of pig population • Review procedures for farm registration and feasibility to compensate all farmers with ASF positive pigs • Develop policy for authority to cull ASF positive pigs and provide compensation to pig owners
