Changes to bus services 77, 85 & 87 linking Steeple Ashton, Keevil, Worton, Cheverell, Erlestoke, Edington & Bratton with Devizes and Trowbridge

The Faresaver bus company currently operates many of the weekday journeys on bus services 87 and 77 as a commercial venture, with Wiltshire Council only having to fund the less well used buses in the late afternoon and on Saturdays. However, owing to increasing operating costs, Faresaver have told us that they are unable to continue operating these services in this manner, and so Wiltshire Council has had to look at alternative ways of operating these services for the foreseeable future.
To ensure that the passengers that currently use these buses are still able to travel to Trowbridge and Devizes, from 2nd May Wiltshire Council will be taking over the funding of these services. However to ensure that these can be operated within the money that we have available, it will be necessary for us to completely revise the weekday timetables for bus services 77, 87 and also change the timetable for Libra Travel bus service 85 as well.
The new timetables for these services from 2nd May are included in this leaflet – please check them carefully as some buses will be running up to one hour earlier or later than they do now.
During the next few months we will be tendering for permanent replacements for these services and so we would be keen to hear any suggestions that you may have for improving them within the limited resources we have available.
