Therefore the government planned to sell the palace in 1845. It was sold for £53.000 to the city of Brighton. It is very exciting, because you get to know the culture of English kings and princess of that time. I would recommend it to everybody who is interested in art music, architecture from India or China.

WINDSOR CASTLE

On the 2nd day we went to the city Windsor. It was a one and a half hour trip through the city. At first, we ran through the train station and saw slowly Windsor Castle. It was a great and wonderful sight. In the castle we had a big inspection. It was a little bit funny and scary. Then, Mrs. Leistner gave us an information, to follow the hard rules in the castle. At this moment, we heard brass-music from the guards. Friends and I ran to the court where they played the music. It was very interesting. After this we visited the Doll's House. Which is a model of the Royal Apartments from the Victorian age. Alack and the Royal Apartments are the official office of the royal family. In this house the walls and the ceiling are mostly in gold. For example: the queen's dressing room is completely in gold and silver. Then I went to the St. Georg´s Chapel. It is a very big church with a big organ and a lot of rooms. Now our group met a the royal shop near the exit. We talked about the Castle and Mrs. Leistner told us, that we have 2 hours free-time in Windsor. Windsor has a lot of wonderful little old shops with all you need and an new shopping-centre with H&M and Svarowsky and all the German shops, too. At 4pm we met at the car park again and went home. At 6 o'clock we were at our host family and talked about the day and had our dinner.

On Thursday the 07.05.2015, we visited the former battlefield in Battle. There we first split up into groups. After that we have looked at a small exhibition about the Battle, where you can also, for example, raise a sword or Kettenhemten and could see how hard they were. Next, we watched a little movie about the slaughter. The Battle of Hastings took place on 14 October 1066 and was the first military success of the French Normans during the conquest of England. After the movie we went to a big round of the battlefield and there were signs where we could read what it was in the battle: Harald came to London to set up an army against the Normans. He took a hill of Hastings (Senlac), a well-entrenched position, waiting for the attack of the Normans. Led by Knight Taillefer zoom the Normans invaded. However, they were repulsed by the Saxons three times. So the battle stayed for three days in a draw until a Wilhelm Stratagem began to fight. He deceived a sham fleeing to lure the Anglo-Saxons from their positions and to dissolve their tightly closed ranks. They scattered into individual piles in pursuit of the enemy. The Normans turned on a bugle call to hearing quickly and fell over the stunned enemy ago. Harald fell and the winner put up his tent at this point his tent, and celebrated till late at night. He later founded a monastery on the battlefield named: Battle Abbey. The Norman army under Duke William the Conqueror defeated the Saxons under their king Harald II. After we visited the battlefield, we met in front of the Battle Abbey and then walked through the city to the bus.

The St.Clements Caves

On Thursday May 7th. 2015 we were on excursion to Clements caves. The St.Clements Caves are also called by the Smugglers British Adventure. It is a labyrinthine caves system in Hastings near the coast. With over 5000 square Meters of known caverns and passages the caves are a secret underground world.

On March 25,1989 the caves have been reopened as a tourist attraction. It is a centre for the history of smuggling on the south coast of England. The caves were once used is also the main entrance to the attraction. While we were walking through dark and Narrow passages, our time travel though the centuries started so. About 40000 smugglers And toll keepers were involved in the illegal trade long the south and east coast of England. Bloody scenes of the smugglers 'life were shown very often. After choosing our language from one of three buttons, the scenes came to life with eerie lights Sound effects and life-sized wax figures. When ever we reached a new section during the tour we watched a short clip. These clips were about the history of the smugglers. In the cave, there were life-sized statues, mummies, skeletons and we saw carved pictures on the wall. On one wall There were hanging wanted posters, which had been used to find the smugglers. Further on Contraband goods and the clothing of the smugglers were issued. There also was a miniature of a City showing us how smuggling worked in the past. The Hawkhurt Gang was one of the biggest and most dangerous gangs of smugglers. The most famous smuggler of this gang was called Hairy Jack. Beside of all the scenes, there were lots of wall charts, telling about the smugglers life situations. After About an hour, or ended back in the store. The caves were very interesting.
