Folly Farm Centre is an environmentally sustainable, conference and event venue nestled in the heart of a 250-acre nature reserve, yet conveniently located just 10 miles from Bristol and Bath. As one of 's hidden gems, 'Folly' as it is affectionately known, offers peaceful seclusion and the most breath-taking views across Lake and the ; an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With five well-equipped conference rooms, additional breakout areas and comfortable farmhouse style accommodation, this beautifully restored 18th century farmhouse offers an inspirational and extremely private venue for day and residential conferences, team-building activities, training days and corporate events.

Located within the restored 18th century barn, The Oak Room is the largest conference and event space at Folly Farm, complete with exposed oak beams, brick walls, impressive full- length barn doors and a solid oak floor. Overlooking the kitchen gardens and paddock, this room is located on the ground floor and benefits from its own private washroom facilities. The Oak Room connects to The Willow Room via an internal door and also features full- length windows between the two rooms.

Accessed directly from the pretty courtyard or via a small number of steps from theadjoining Oak Room, The Willow Room is located within the restored 18th century barn and boasts exposed oak beams, brick walls, impressive full-length barn doors and a solid oak floor. Whilst The Willow Room can be used as a stand-alone conference room, it also provides an ideal reception or break-out room for conferences in The Oak Room.

The newly-refurbished Hedgehog Hub is a stylish and contemporary meeting space located on the ground floor just a stone's throw from our kitchen gardens, surrounded by fields and woodland.

Complete with exposed beams and an impressive, locally-made natural wood table, the décor is sympathetic to its nature reserve surroundings, but combined with splashes of colour and contemporary twists, the room offers a creative meeting space that is full of fun and character.

The Dowlings offers a creative, fun and versatile space for more informal meetings, training sessions and events. Located within the main Farmhouse building, this light and spacious room has windows along two walls and vibrant décor combined with farmhouse features. The Dowlings can be used alongside the adjoining glass-roofed Atrium to create the perfect meeting room/break-out area set-up.

Accessed via a short flight of steps from the Atrium, or directly from a lower level entrance, The Old Dairy is a versatile space that can be used as a dining area or a meeting space. The ambient lighting, exposed brick walls and impressive fireplace complete with a working log burner, creates a more informal atmosphere.

Residential Conferences- Accommodation Farmhouse-style accommodation sleeping up to 46 guests.

For residential conferences and events, up to 46 delegates can stay in the 20 on-site bedrooms, comprising 10 farmhouse-style bedrooms and 10 studio bedrooms. At the end of the day delegates can relax next to the log-burning fire, take dusk walks around the nature reserve, or sit under the stars by the fire pit. The next morning, wake up to a hearty breakfast served in the Old Dairy dining room. The maximum number for residential conferences is 46 delegates, on a shared basis. If single occupancy accommodation is required, a total of 20 delegates can be accommodated, however please note that a small number of bedrooms share bathroom facilities. If single occupancy en-suite/own bathroom accommodation is required, a total of 18 delegates can be accommodated on-site at Folly Farm.

The Farmhouse– 10 bedrooms

Sleeping up to 26 guests, The Farmhouse offers comfortable country-style accommodation with all bedrooms leading off from the central atrium, complete with comfy sofas, a real log fire and a glass ceiling.

Sleeping up to 20 guests, the self-contained studios are located just a stone’s throw from the Farmhouse with stunning views over , the Mendip Hills and beyond. All studio bedrooms are located on the ground floor.

Terms & Conditions

The following are our terms and conditions to which all conference, groups, accommodation and events bookings are subject. Written confirmation of the proposal form from the client and/or a copy of these terms and conditions signed by the client implies an acceptance of these terms and conditions.

In these terms and conditions, the expression ‘the centre’ refers to Folly Farm Centre Ltd as specified in the client’s confirmation and the expression ‘the client’ refers to any person, firm or company booking the centre.

FORMATION OF CONTRACT

1.1 A booking will not constitute a legal contract until the booking form and T&C are completed and sign and returned to the centre, along with a deposit or payment in advance requested by the centre has been paid. 1.2 Final numbers need to be supplied 7 days before the event, if any changes after the 7 days then you will still be charged for the original number and the final invoice will reflect this. This reflects to all charges. 1.3 The centre may cancel at any stage any functions of whatever nature if it believes that to allow the function to proceed could contravene the law. In such a case any contract shall be null and void and the centres liability will be limited to the return of any deposits paid.

DEPOSITS AND PREPAYMENTS

2.1 Prices quoted are subject to variation up to 3 months prior to arrival, after which they may vary due to chance in Value Added Tax or other reasons outside the centres control. 2.2 The client agrees to pay the centre charges for any extra goods or services provided at the request of the client or any person agreed to have the requisite authority. 2.3 Payment by cheque, bankers draft or such credit cards as are recognised by the centre. 2.4 Payment may be made in pounds sterling. 2.5 Credit facilities with the centre are available to corporate accounts. Completed credit application forms are required at least 28 days prior to the date from which the credit is required. The centre is under no obligation to grant credit. Credit facilities are not offered to private group or individuals bookings. 2.6 In the event of full prepayment being required by the centre, full prepayment of all charges, including VAT must be made, or credit facilities agreed, at least 28 days prior. 2.7 All sums payable under this agreement are due for payment on presentation of the invoice. In the event of any query relating to the invoice, the client must notify the centre within 14 days of the invoice date and the clients’ obligation to pay all outstanding balances immediately will not be affected. 2.8 The centre reserves the right to charge interest at a rate of 8% points above the Bank of Scotland Plc base rate for each 28 day period, or part thereof on any outstanding balances.

CANCELLATIONS and EVENT INSURANCE

3.1 In the event of cancellation the following payments are payable, applicable to both residential and non-residential events. In the instance of residential events the standard terms of cancellation for bedroom accommodations are superseded by the information as shown below:

Cancellation received 3 - 6 months before the start date of the event 50% of estimated total cost

Cancellation received 28 days - 3 months before the start of the event 75% of estimated total cost

Cancellation received less than 28 days before the start date of the event 100% of estimated total cost

3.2 Cancellation of original booked numbers with regards to catering and activities require a 48hrs notice, after 48hrs we will charge for the original numbers.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES

4.1 Occupying the centre the day before a function implies that the bedrooms will be available for the function guests from 14 :00, if they have been bookedfor the prior night. This can depend on the booking and confirmation of this will be supplied on the booking form.

4.2 Occupying the centre on the day of the function implies that the bedrooms will be available for the function guests from 14:00. Function rooms will be available for use from 08:00.

4.3 All guests are expected to vacate their bedrooms and function rooms by 10:00 on the day of departure.. The client agrees to leave all function rooms, restaurant and kitchen in a clean and tidy state. All movable items, including glassware, crockery and cutlery, must be left where originally found. The centre reserves the right to charge the client an additional fee should the client not leave all relevant areas in a suitably clean and sanitary state.

BREAKAGES

5.1 The centre reserves the right to charge the client for any and all breakages and stock loss, including glassware, crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils and any damage to the Centre's buildings or its surroundings. The replacement cost will be equivalent to the current purchase value of relevant items.

LIABILITY

6.1 Save as contained in statute the centre will not be liable or responsible for any loss, damage or inconvenience of any type of kind. 6.2 The centre will not be liable for any loss of or damage to, the property of any guest or other person in the centre except as defined in the Hotel Proprietors Act 1956 or as otherwise provided by statute. 6.3 The organiser will indemnify the centre against any loss or damage to, the property of any guest, or by any other person attending the function, to any part of the centre or its fixtures or equipment, or to any property belonging to third parties.

SETTLEMENTS & INTEREST

7.1 If a final account is rendered after the event, any balance is due for payment within 14 days of the invoice date. 7.2 The centre reserves the right to charge interest on overdue accounts at a compound rate of 2% per calendar month or part thereof.

LAW

8.1 These conditions and the contract of which they form a part shall be governed by English Law and the parties to the contract hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of .

FORCE MAJEURE

9.1 The centre shall not be liable for any breach of its obligations under this agreement resulting from causes beyond it’s reasonable control including but not limited to fires, strikes, riots, embargos inability to obtain supplies, or regulations of a civil or military authority.

WHOLE AGREEMENT

10.1 This agreement contains the entire understanding of the parties and supersedes all prior written or verbal agreements or representations. No variation will be binding unless in writing and signed by an authorised representative of the centre.

ENGAGEMENT OF EXTERNAL CONTRACTORS

11.1 Should the organiser wish to employ the services of any external contractor, they will confirm such an arrangement with the centre and the centre reserves the right, in it’s absolute discretion to refuse such a request. If the request is accepted the organiser hereby undertakes to indemnify the centre against claims made against it resulting from any act or default of such external contractor. All external contractors shall be in the possession of up-to-date public liability insurance and responsible for applying all the requirements laid out by the health and safety executive, including cleaning and sanitising all areas used in the kitchens, restaurant and function rooms. The Centre reserves the right to charge the client an additional fee should the client and external contractor not leave all relevant areas in a suitably clean and sanitary state. It is the organiser’s responsibility to ensure that all external contractors abide by these arrangements.

DECORATIONS and MUSIC

12.1 The guest shall not affix any materials to walls or ceilings of the centre by the use of nails, screws, pins or any adhesive tape or any substance of any kind without prior permission from the centre. 12.2 The Centre has an approved licence to play both live and recorded music within the Oak room only. The licence allows music to be played until 12:00pm. To help maintain a satisfactory level of maximum sound/noise levels, we have an instrument called a noise limiter and a ll PA, amplifiers and music systems will plug in to this device which enable the sound level to be capped at approximately 90 dB on the dance floor (this is the same level of sound that is accepted at a regular night club).

CONDUCT

13.1 The client shall be responsible for the orderly conduct of the events and shall ensure that nothing will be done which constitutes a breach of law or in any way causes a nuisance or infringes on any licensing laws or illegal gaming or betting laws. 13.2 Guests are also reminded that Folly Farm Centre is situated within a nature reserve and all guests are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner when on site. Utmost care should be taken not to harm any living creature or damage any vegetation on the nature reserve.
