Folly Farm Centre is an environmentally sustainable, meeting and event venue nestled in the heart of a 250- acre nature reserve, yet conveniently located just 10 miles from Bristol and Bath. Peaceful seclusion and the most breath-taking views across Chew Valley Lake and the Mendip Hills; an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With six well-equipped meeting rooms, additional breakout areas and comfortable farmhouse style accommodation, this beautifully restored 18th century farmhouse offers an inspirational and extremely private venue for day and residential meetings, conferences, team-building activities, training days and corporate events.

If you’re an ethical business like us, you’ll love the fact that all paper on site is recycled, we use solar and biomass heating, wastewater is broken down in our reed bed sewage system, and we even harvest rainwater. This all helps you reduce your carbon footprint of your event.

Best of all, owned and managed by Avon Wildlife Trust, all profits go to the charity, leaving a great legacy for your event.

Folly Farm is a Covid safe Venue Rest assured that you will be safe and comfortable at Folly Farm

At Folly Farm we have implemented procedures to ensure everyone is safe from Covid and feel comfortable getting together.

Here are the main procedures we have put in place • Meeting capacity up to a maximum of 30 people • Room layouts available for social distance at 2m and 1m • Refreshments served at individual stations at social distance • Each delegate has their own thermal bottles for hot and cold water topped up throughout the day • Lunch served in sealed trays delivered to the refreshment stations, and a choice of eating at your meeting space, or other indoor or outdoor spaces • Each delegate provided with their own PPE • Sanitisation stations provided in all areas with hand gel and disinfectant spray • All rooms deep cleaned between different groups • Shared toilet facilities cleaned after each break • Track and trace forms completed by every delegate • A document of all procedures given to delegates • Enhanced cleaning procedures, especially for regular touch points • Relevant signage throughout the venue.

We review all latest guidelines released by the government and update our procedures where necessary. Oak and Willow Barns

The Oak and Willow barns form our largest event space. Located in the centre of the converted farm buildings, they are adjacent to the Hedgehog and Owl’s Nest rooms, and across the main lawn from the Farmhouse containing the Atrium, Fieldmouse, and Old Dairy.

Both barns feature the original stone walls, vaulted ceilings, exposed oak beams and solid wooden floors. The large windows and doors allow for views across Chew Valley and the Mendip hills beyond, and the nature reserve in the other direction.

These are our most flexible space for meetings, and even with social distancing have a number of layouts available. The meetings take place in the Oak, whilst the Willow is used for refreshment stations. If you prefer to use the Willow for breakout groups, refreshment stations can be located at people’s meeting space instead.

Hedgehog Conference Room

The Hedgehog is a stylish and contemporary meeting space, located adjacent to the Willow and Oak Barns, and the Owl’s Nest. The room overlooks the paddock and kitchen gardens, and has lots of natural light and great views of the nature reserve. Complete with exposed beams and a locally-made natural wood table, the décor is sympathetic to its nature reserve surroundings, but combined with splashes of colour and contemporary twists, the room offers a creative meeting space that is full of fun and character.

This is the perfect space for smaller meetings, or can be used as a break out area for meetings held in the barns.

Owl’s Nest Conference Room

A meeting space tucked away in a private spot on the farm with far-reaching views out across the Mendip Hills and beyond. The Owl’s Nest is a light and contemporary room with a kitchenette, including tea and coffee station and fridge. This room also has its own washroom facilities. This room is perfect for smaller meetings, or breakout groups from the adjacent Oak and Willow Barns. Whilst this space is extremely versatile, it’s perfect when used as a training room or briefing room prior to outdoor activities and team building – nature really is right on your doorstep!

Fieldmouse Conference Room

The Field Mouse offers a creative, fun and versatile space for more informal meetings, training sessions and events. Located within the main farmhouse building, just off the Atrium, this light and spacious room has a vibrant décor, and original oak beams running along the eves. The lower level windows frame the views across the orchard gardens. This room also features a movable partition to allow the space to be adjusted depending on numbers and requirements.

The Field Mouse is ideal for stand-alone meetings breaking out in to the Atrium, or as a breakout room itself alongside the Willow and oak Barns.

Old Dairy

The beautiful Old Dairy, with stone walls and flagstone flooring, is available to use for meetings as well as breakout areas alongside the Fieldmouse and Atrium. In addition there is a courtyard and orchard garden to the side for use by your delegates.

Residential Conferences – Accommodation Sleeping up to 17 guests

For residential conferences and events, up to 17 delegates can stay in single occupancy rooms, split between the farmhouse and courtyards. All rooms feature double beds and ensuite toilets, with views across Chew Valley and the nature reserve.

The Farmhouse – 7 bedrooms

Sleeping up to 7 guests, The Farmhouse offers comfortable country-style accommodation with all bedrooms leading off from the central atrium, a perfect meet-and-greet and/or communal space complete with comfy sofas, a real log fire and a glass ceiling.

. The Studios – 10 bedrooms

Sleeping up to 10 guests, the studios are located just a stone’s throw from the Farmhouse with stunning views over Chew Valley Lake, the Mendip Hills and beyond. All studio bedrooms are located on the ground floor and open directly on to external courtyards.

Folly Farm is located within the Somerset village of Pensford and lies within the picturesque Chew Valley, approximately 7 miles south of Bristol and 8 miles west of Bath. It is on the A37 road from Bristol to Shepton Mallet.
