Cumbria Scheme The smallest of the training schemes. However, apart from awe inspiring scenery; Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust offers excellent opportunities for those that train in the region. The Trust puts genuine value on medical education; they are an organised department that consistently performs well. There are a number of excellent opportunities for clinical learning, but also numerous other developmental areas you would be welcome to join including;  Medical Education Research and Development Projects  Clinical and Medical Education Audit  Leadership and Management. Accommodation: Cumbria is the Trust furthest north in the scheme and it is inevitable that trainees have to move during their time to which it is recognised that this is difficult and has a cost attached to it. You should be aware that this cost does not have to be met by yourself as a trainee. As a trainee in Cumbria you will be employed by Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, as are all trainees in the North West. As such you are covered by their “Removal and Associated Expenses Policy”. Please refer to “Section 12: Travel Expenses in Lieu of relocation or whilst on rotation”. Whilst you should read this whole section and decide how this policy will best work for you please draw your attention to section 12.8.2 which states rather than commuting on a daily basis from home to Cumbria “The StR will then have the option of staying in accommodation at/in the vicinity of their place of work subject to a maximum allowance of £800 per month”. The details of how you make that claim follow in section 13.
