Location Adjacent to the Federal Palace, the BELLEVUE PALACE is an imposing architectural ensemble at the southern extremity of the old town of Bern. The neoclassical hotel stands on a rocky terrace overlooking the banks of the River Aare.

History The BELLEVUE PALACE originally opened in 1865 as the Hotel Bellevue. After a full conversion in 1913, the hotel experienced its first heyday around 1920 as it became the meeting point for society in the federal capital. The Swiss National Bank acquired the BELLEVUE PALACE in 1976, handing over the property to the Swiss Confederation in 1994. Today the BELLEVUE PALACE is the official hotel for guests of the state. Since 2007 the BELLEVUE PALACE has been part of the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU COLLECTION, which runs the establishment on a lease basis.

Rooms The BELLEVUE PALACE has 126 luxurious rooms, with singles, doubles and Deluxe rooms, 24 Junior Suites and Suites. Especially impressive is the 160-square-metre Presidential Suite, which incorporates a bedroom, lounge, conference room and private kitchen. The Suite has hosted various heads of state. All rooms are stylishly furnished, offering high levels of comfort and the latest technology.

Restaurants Arched floor-to-ceiling windows, an imposing arched ceiling and stately wood paneling grace the interior of the restaurant «VUE», which seats 70 diners. In the warmer months (April to October), the 80-seat «BELLEVUE Terrasse» offers superb views of the River Aare and the peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Holding 50 guests, the «BELLEVUE Bar» has always been a magnetic venue. In May 2010 the «BELLEVUE Bar» was extended to include the roomy «Le Fumoir», which accommodates 20 seats. Aside from traditional cocktails, «Le LOBBY» serves 99 varieties of gin, either neat or as part of creative new drinks. During the winter, the «Avant Club» hosts «Le LOBBY gets Lounge» every Friday and Saturday evening, with rotating DJs providing a backdrop of lounge tunes for informal get-togethers.

Cuisine Overseen by Gregor Zimmermann and the recipient of 16 Gault Millau points, the BELLEVUE PALACE serves a French inspired «cuisine néo-artisanale» characterized by fresh and seasonal ingredients, vegetarian and vegan creations and an exquisite range of specialty cheeses and desserts. From Tuesday to Saturday, «Le LOBBY» serves a superior and diverse selection of freshly prepared sushi and sashimi.

Meetings The BELLEVUE PALACE has 12 different function rooms, all of which are equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Ranging in size from 19-300 square meters, the rooms provide the perfect solution, whatever the occasion.

The rooms on the ground floor are particularly worthy of note:  «Salon Royal» (300 m2)  «Salon du Palais» (240 m2)  «Salon Rouge», (112 m2)  «Salon Casino» (71 m2)  «Münz Lounge» (183 m2)  «Salon d’Honneur» as a reception room

For business travelers, the BELLEVUE PALACE has well- appointed rooms with extra-large desks on its 5th floor business level.

Spa and fitness The 200-square-meter fitness center extends over two levels (5th floor and roof terrace), while the Finnish saunas entice guests to relax (in separate areas for men and women).

Getting there From Bern station, the BELLEVUE PALACE is a five-minute walk; by public transport, trams 6, 7, 8 and 9 stop at «».
