The Resolution, which was unanimously adopted by the UN Secu- rity Council in 2000, pursues three main objectives: an increased participation of women in peace processes, the prevention of and protection from gender-based violence against seCurity women and girls, and the adoption of a gender perspective in all projects and programmes of peace promotion. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// No document has so strongly marked the international debate on gender and peace pro- motion in political and academic circles as has Resolution 1325.
