KI INVITATION Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Bantleon to the Paul Herren Award
Professor Bantleon received his MD and his DDS degrees from the University of Graz. Thursday, December 5th 2019, 17.30 p.m. Later he became an assistant at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Hotel Bellevue Palace (Salon Royal), Kochergasse 3–5, 3011 Bern subsequently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Orthodontics. In 1992, he became Full Professor as well as Head of the Department of Orthodontics at the University Dental Clinic Vienna. Since 2018, he has been serving as Professor Emeritus. Additionally, he Program runs two private practices in Vienna.
From 1996 to 2015 Professor Bantleon was Chairman of the Austrian Society of Orthodon- Introduction tists and from 2005 to 2018 President of the Annual International Vienna Orthodontic Prof. Dr. Anton Sculean Symposium (IVOS). In 2006, he served as the President of the European Orthodontic Executive Director of the School of Dental Medicine, University of Bern Society (EOS) and organized the 82nd EOS Congress in Vienna.
In 2016, Professor Bantleon received the «Austrian Decoration for Science and Art», the Presentation of the Laureate highest decoration for scientists granted by the Austrian Republic. In 2017, he gave the Prof. Dr. Christos Katsaros Sheldon Friel Memorial Lecture in Montreux at the 93rd Congress of the European Ortho- Director of the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, dontic Society. In 2018, he became Honorary Member of the Austrian Society for Dental University of Bern and Oral Medicine (ÖGZMK).
Professor Bantleon has authored and co-authored more than 200 publications and several Presentation of the Paul Herren Award book chapters, mainly in the fields of biomechanics, bonding techniques and materials. Prof. Dr. Hans-Uwe Simon He is reviewer and member of the editorial board of several international journals and is Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Bern an active member of the Angle Society of Europe.
