CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL AND COMPARATIVE LAW

APPLICATION FOR SUMMER RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN BOCHUM,

In cooperation with the School of Law, the - in Bochum, Germany, occasionally offers research fellowships to Saint Louis University law students and new law faculty. Each fellowship covers a period of up to three months at the Ruhr-University. To take advantage of the fellowship, prospective fellows must:

• Have sufficient command of the German language;

• Complete the application and provide all required documents, including a brief description of their research plan;

Upon receipt of a completed application, the Center for International and Comparative Law assists applicants in obtaining acceptance of the plan by a professor at the Ruhr-University who will act as advisor to the applicant.

The Fellowships, provided by the Organization for the Promotion of Legal Science in Bochum (Verein zur Förderung der Rechtswissenschaft e.V., Bochum), will pay the cost of round-trip travel from Saint Louis to Bochum. In addition, the fellowship includes a stipend to supplement the applicant’s income.

Students are encouraged to develop their research plan in consultation with a member of the faculty of the School of Law. When a student’s research at the Ruhr-University meets the School of Law’s requirements for a Directed Research, such research can provide the basis for academic credit that counts toward the student’s J.D. degree.
