MOMBASA-NAIROBI-ADDIS ABABA ROAD CORRIDOR PHASE II:

CONTRACT 3: MEGA -MOYALE

GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

The Government of Ethiopia has received a loan from the African Development Fund to finance the Mombasa-Nairobi-Addis Ababa Road Corridor Phase II: Contract 3: Mega-Moyale. The principal objectives of this project are to promote trade and regional integration between Ethiopia and Kenya by improving transport communications between the two countries. Mombasa-Nairobi-Addis Ababa Corridor Phase II Contracts: Contract 3: Mega-Moyale Project is located in the Southern Part of Ethiopia in the Oromiya Regional State. The civil works is to be procured on the basis of pre-qualification of contractors through International Competitive Bidding while the consultancy service for construction supervision contracts is to be procured through Quality and Cost Based Selection and for audit service contract, Least Cost Selection will be used on the basis of a shortlist of qualified firms.

The project includes the following components;

i. Rehabilitation works with Asphalt Concrete standard of 109 km length with a 7-meter wide carriageway and 1.5m shoulders.

ii. Consultancy Services for Construction Supervision of Rehabilitation Work; and

iii. Consultancy Services for Audit of the project.

Procurement of works shall be in accordance with the Bank's Rules and Procedures for the Procurement of Goods and Works. Acquisition of the services of the consultant will follow Bank's Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants. Bidding documents for works and Request for Proposals for the services are expected to be available in January 2012.
