As this becomes the halfway mark in this competition, we wish both our teams a fruitful outcome but also give some time to reflect on how their season of football so far has played out, and what we all can do to better prepare for the next half of this competition. David Owen 3 COACHES COMMENTS Good Afternoon everyone and welcome to Murdoch Park for today’s clash against Mt Albert Ponsonby. A warm welcome to Mt Albert Ponsonby’s players, Coaching Staff and Supporters as well as the match officials. Since my last write up we have had one game which was at home to Western Springs a fortnight ago. This game was a going to be no different to the game against Eastern Suburbs. Western Springs were sitting up the top end of the table and were in a tussle with Suburbs for the number one spot on the ladder. To the game and it started out as a classic arm wrestle battle. With possession and territory being relatively even the game could have possibly gone either way. Western Springs however with some good play managed to score to go one up and take the lead towards the latter stages of the game. It was at this time I made some changes and one of those was bringing Ebuka on up front. With his strong potential and great pace he was able to get a great ball and run through to score and level the game. The lads thought hard right to the final whistle and we took a 1-1 draw which was a pleasing result. To today’s game, we will be will wanting to do all we can to pick up points on offer and get another win at home. We know that we have the potential to gain results from teams who sit at the upper end of the table. We also want to start the second half of the season on a good note. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Fadeel Khan and his partner on the birth of their child last week. I hope everything is going well. I would like to again thank you the supporters who come down week in week out to support the boys. Enjoy the game and see you all afterwards in the bar. Paul Margison (Margee) 4 RESERVE TEAM Greetings everyone and welcome to Mt Albert Ponsonby and their supporters to Murdoch Park. Today we start the second round of the season home to Mt Albert Ponsonby. We hope to make it a good start. Against Western Springs we were in for a good tussle. We had a squad that was capable to get a result required. Western Springs however showed they were going to be strong and if we wanted steal a result we would have to be on the ball and take our chances given. Unfortunately Western Springs played strong and effectively and as a result of this they took the result 3-0 Last week against Lynn-Avon in the plate we were determined to go out and beat a division 2 side. Early on in the game it looked to be relatively even however Lynn Avon took some impressive control of the game and scored 4 goals to win the game 4-0 seeing our cup run end. To today’s game and we take on Mt Albert Ponsonby. This team gave us a good tussle in the first half of the season and we are sure today will be no different. It will be great to see the lads pick up the points on offer today and pick up a win to start the second half of the season. The Reserve Back Room Mickey Paea / Roland Coysh 5 JUNIOR REPORT Papatoetoe AFC 8th Grade Football Festival June 2014 On Saturday the 7th June our 8th grade kids from Papatoetoe AFC who are involved in a cluster group with Papatoetoe United, Otahuhu, Manukau participated in a Football Festival which was hosted at Murdoch Park. The Football Festival was run like a mini tournament between the clubs with a total of 10 teams with Papatoetoe AFC having 4 teams involved. Luckily it was a fine morning and 70+ Children along with their parents, grandparents, aunty and uncles turned up at Murdoch Park. The Children played 5 games in total and the top 4 teams played off in a 6th game. Lots of fun was had by all and there was a bunch of tired but happy kids at the end of the morning. Our Papatoetoe AFC teams did well competing against the other clubs. Papatoetoe United Brazil came away with the winners trophy and a very large block of chocolate each, Papatoetoe AFC Storm did very well and finished 2nd after drawing 0-0 in the final but losing on corners conceded and they also receive a block of chocolate each, every child that participated received a certificate and there was a lolly scramble for everyone at the end. The 8th Grade Hurricanes would like to thank Maria, Leon and Wendy for running the football festival, and also to Ave, Shontelle and Ally for doing an excellent job at refereeing the games. Also a big thanks to the parents that helped coach our teams, David, Ross, John, Tariq and Anthony. Final result were: Papatoetoe United Brazil, Papatoetoe AFC Storm, Otahuhu/Manukau Dragons, Papatoetoe United Germany, Papatoetoe United Spain, Papatoetoe AFC Cyclones, Papatoetoe AFC Thunder, Papatoetoe AFC Lightning, Papatoetoe United England, Papatoetoe United Argentina. We Are North Shore SATURDAY 13th MAY 2017 – KICK OFF 2PM CHATHAM CUP – RD1 OFFICIAL MATCH DAY PROGRAMME OPPOSITION: METRO FC HEAD COACH– Tom Speers Good afternoon and welcome back to the the Hill for the 1st round of the Chatham Cup. I would like to welcome Mike and his Metro team here today, I expect it to be a lot tighter game than when they visited in the first game of season and I'm sure they will be looking to do a lot better than the 7-0 they experienced here that day. I love being part of the Cup and as there is only one cup competition in NZ I'm looking forward to hopefully going far. This club has a rich history in this cup, winning it 6 times, the last being in 1986, so fingers crossed we can progress into the later rounds of the competition and be there or there about towards the end. You can see the success we have had in this competition all over the clubhouse walls and talking with former players who have won it, we know how important it is to the club that we represent the club properly, so unlike the rumours I have been hearing, we will be playing a full strength squad and hoping every club in this competition do the same, resting players when you only have 1 game a week would be disrespectful to the longest cup competition on the planet and also be quite embarrassing for the clubs that do so. I hope you have a good day and hopefully see us progress, get behind the boys and make some noise.

WE AREARE NORTHNORTH SHORESHORE UNITEDUNITED SATURDAY 2nd SEPTEMBER 2017 – KICK OFF 3PM NRFL – RD 22 Fixture OFFICIAL MATCH DAY PROGRAMME OPPOSITION: MANUKAU CITY Tom Speers - Head Coach Welcome back to the Hill which sees us host our final game of the 2017 season. Firstly our huge congratulations to our visitors, Kevin and his Manukau team, who have achieved back to back promotions. This is a great achievement considering how difficult the league was this year, we wish them luck for next year. As it is our final game I’d like to thank a couple of people who have not only supported me but have helped the club massively this year, Tom Bray, Bill Lissington and Ben Wall, without your help this year would have not gone as smoothly as it has, so thank you. Reflecting on the year, even though we didn't achieve our main target, we can still be pleased with our efforts, considering only 3 members of our team survived from the 2016 season, building a new squad and still accumulating enough points to have gone is still something to be proud of. This years league was extremely competitive, and with the young squad we have I’m sure we will only push on next year. I would like to thank all the sponsors for their continued support as without you the club would not be able to run. And lastly I’d like to thank you, the fans, for your support, it has been great to have your backing week in week out and I know the boys and myself have really appreciated it.

Box 75 122 War Memorial Park Manurewa Gibbs Rd Auckland Manurewa Phone: (09) 267 1120 www.manurewaafc.org.nz Hello again everyone and welcome to our first derby match for a couple of seasons. These matches are usually hard fought and entertaining regardless of where the teams currently stand on the results ladder. I expect today will be no different. At Manurewa this year we have embarked on a new coaching strategy for the 1st and reserves teams and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Hoani, Nathan, Mark & Steve for giving it a real attempt. We also have two relatively youthful sides this year that I would encourage to gel as a team, learn together and get stronger and better as individuals and as team players. We also welcome a couple of players from overseas, penalty saver Mataias and what red card Pablo. I hope you guys have settled in and are enjoying your time playing for Manurewa. Also welcome back Stephen Carmichael to the club, [I coached him when he was a youngster, oh he still is a youngster] he has scored more goals in three games than one of his coaches did in a year, [let you guess who that is]. To our supporters, once again thank you for the great turn out in numbers, whether home or away, it’s what gets this club mentioned in one way or another and I'm sure it does lift our teams.
