North Shore United Coachingmanager@Nsu .Org.Nz Has a Proud History of Doing Well in 021 0228 3770 the Chatham Cup
We Are North Shore SATURDAY 13th MAY 2017 – KICK OFF 2PM CHATHAM CUP – RD1 OFFICIAL MATCH DAY PROGRAMME OPPOSITION: METRO FC HEAD COACH– Tom Speers Good afternoon and welcome back to the the Hill for the 1st round of the Chatham Cup. I would like to welcome Mike and his Metro team here today, I expect it to be a lot tighter game than when they visited in the first game of season and I'm sure they will be looking to do a lot better than the 7-0 they experienced here that day. I love being part of the Cup and as there is only one cup competition in NZ I'm looking forward to hopefully going far. This club has a rich history in this cup, winning it 6 times, the last being in 1986, so fingers crossed we can progress into the later rounds of the competition and be there or there about towards the end. You can see the success we have had in this competition all over the clubhouse walls and talking with former players who have won it, we know how important it is to the club that we represent the club properly, so unlike the rumours I have been hearing, we will be playing a full strength squad and hoping every club in this competition do the same, resting players when you only have 1 game a week would be disrespectful to the longest cup competition on the planet and also be quite embarrassing for the clubs that do so. I hope you have a good day and hopefully see us progress, get behind the boys and make some noise. -

While most normal people are pigging out on Easter eggs and hot cross buns the football fraternity will be slogging it 2011 out on fi elds up and down the country. I’m sure there’s a good reason why we do it... Management Our start to the season has been solid enough. A close Committee loss at Manurewa was followed by a home victory over Onehunga Mangere that was a little more exciting than it Patron needed to be. Last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Takapuna was Jack Poole a real battle. It took us until mid-June to get our fi rst point in Auckland last season, so it was great to get that little President monkey off the back nice and early this time around. Dwayne Barlow This weekend we play host to two of the favourites Vice-President for the 2011 NRFL division 1 title. This will be a proper Peter Challis examination of where we stand and a good indicator of our prospects for the season. Treasurer Birkenhead United visit us on Saturday and come with Dave Mann the reputation of being a young and exciting footballing Secretary team. -

Box 75 122 War Memorial Park Manurewa Gibbs Rd Auckland Manurewa Phone: (09) 267 1120 Welcome to Western Springs who sit in second spot for Northern League Division one. Last Sundays result wasn’t what we wanted but I have to say that the signs are there and with some accurate shooting and passing the result could have been a lot different. To both sides keep the effort up and I look forward to the start of the second round. I am positive we will start to see the results we as members, coaches and players want. A reminder that it is the second round of the Chatham Cup against Hibiscus Coast away on Monday 2nd June at 2pm. So folks think about the trip up again and hopefully a change in results. Sorry to see the Division Six side disbanded but to those who gave it a go well done. Hopefully something to work on for next year. I’m looking forward to seeing a game at home this week after being away for awhile. Sometimes work gets in the road of sport. Good luck to all sides, enjoy your sport. WE AREARE NORTHNORTH SHORESHORE UNITEDUNITED SATURDAY 2nd SEPTEMBER 2017 – KICK OFF 3PM NRFL – RD 22 Fixture OFFICIAL MATCH DAY PROGRAMME OPPOSITION: MANUKAU CITY Tom Speers - Head Coach Welcome back to the Hill which sees us host our final game of the 2017 season. Firstly our huge congratulations to our visitors, Kevin and his Manukau team, who have achieved back to back promotions. This is a great achievement considering how difficult the league was this year, we wish them luck for next year. As it is our final game I’d like to thank a couple of people who have not only supported me but have helped the club massively this year, Tom Bray, Bill Lissington and Ben Wall, without your help this year would have not gone as smoothly as it has, so thank you. Reflecting on the year, even though we didn't achieve our main target, we can still be pleased with our efforts, considering only 3 members of our team survived from the 2016 season, building a new squad and still accumulating enough points to have gone is still something to be proud of. This years league was extremely competitive, and with the young squad we have I’m sure we will only push on next year. I would like to thank all the sponsors for their continued support as without you the club would not be able to run. And lastly I’d like to thank you, the fans, for your support, it has been great to have your backing week in week out and I know the boys and myself have really appreciated it. -

To tie in with this historic milestone, the Lotto NRFL will have a new look and feel with the introduction of a logo and further branding, including social media and this weekly programme, for one of the country’s leading club-based competitions. The elements used within the logo refer to various features of the different regions. The wavy lines represent the wide expanses of water that surround Northland, Auckland and the Waikato, including the Waikato River, while the mountains evoke the Waitakere Ranges, Bombay Hills and Kamai Ranges, as well as the numerous volcanoes that are scattered throughout the area. The Harbour Bridge connects Auckland’s southern suburbs with the North Shore and stands proud in the distance of the logo while the history of the competition is reflected in the slogan ’50 Years of Local Pride’. Box 75 122 War Memorial Park Manurewa Gibbs Rd Auckland Manurewa Phone: (09) 267 1120 www.manurewaafc.org.nz Hello again everyone and welcome to our first derby match for a couple of seasons. These matches are usually hard fought and entertaining regardless of where the teams currently stand on the results ladder. I expect today will be no different. At Manurewa this year we have embarked on a new coaching strategy for the 1st and reserves teams and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Hoani, Nathan, Mark & Steve for giving it a real attempt. We also have two relatively youthful sides this year that I would encourage to gel as a team, learn together and get stronger and better as individuals and as team players. We also welcome a couple of players from overseas, penalty saver Mataias and what red card Pablo. I hope you guys have settled in and are enjoying your time playing for Manurewa. Also welcome back Stephen Carmichael to the club, [I coached him when he was a youngster, oh he still is a youngster] he has scored more goals in three games than one of his coaches did in a year, [let you guess who that is]. To our supporters, once again thank you for the great turn out in numbers, whether home or away, it’s what gets this club mentioned in one way or another and I'm sure it does lift our teams. -

The Lotto NRFL took a break last week as the World Cup kicked off in Auckland but returns this weekend with a full schedule of excitement and drama in store. With the season now having reached the halfway point, the intensity of the play will ramp up even further over the coming weeks and the title is still very much up for grabs in each division. The respective leaders hold only a slim advantage and it’s just as tight at the other end of most divisions where a host of teams are battling it out to retain their status.
