Vs MT ALBERT PONSONBY Vs MT ALBERT PONSONBY Lotto Northern Premier Division 18April 2014 2.45pm Manurewa AFC Club Rooms P.O. Box 75 122 War Memorial Park Manurewa Gibbs Rd Auckland Manurewa Phone: (09) 267 1120 www.manurewaafc.org.nz Hello and welcome to everyone here today for our first home game of the 2014 season. Welcome to our Mt Albert/Ponsonby visitors, looking forward to two entertaining games this afternoon. I would encourage you all to partake in refreshments from our well stocked bar, food from our excellent kitchen menu and even a freshly made coffee from our new coffee machine to make your Good Friday football experience complete. I would also like our supporters to really embrace our two relatively young new teams, run by our new expert coaching squad, as Manurewa is reknowned for. Projects the Board have been working on and instilled for this year include two youth acadamies, a dedicated coaching coordinator, two specialised goalkeeping training sessions each week, school holiday programmes for the kids, all run by a mix of ex All Whites, experienced coaches and successful players. Finally, a huge thank you to all the people involved in setting up and getting the new season underway. It does take a lot of work to ensure players of all ages can enjoy their chosen sport and a fantastic, successful club. Looking forward to an enjoyable & successful season as always. It seems a bit unusual that we are into our fourth game of the season and this is the first report I have had to do. Bonus! I would like to welcome Mt Albert/Ponsonby and their supporters to our first home game of the season. I have told our boys that this is an important weekend for us and that I will be disappointed if we don't pick up at least 3 points from our 2 games. We need to win at least 1 so we can stay in touch with the leaders. The positive side for us is that we have played 2 of the top sides already, losing 2-0 to Ellerslie and 1-0 to Eastern Suburbs respectively. Eastern Suburbs was by far our best performance to date , although they had the majority of the possession, we battled well against an experienced side which included a couple of ex Manurewa 1st team players. We again have a reasonably young squad and with the experience of a couple of old hands in Theara and Stevie, I believe that we will be quite competitive and should have done reasonably well come the end of the season. Good luck to the first team this weekend and may the Easter bunny bring us an early present in the form of 3 points. Today's match is crucial in our bid to get our season back on track. After a solid pre-season build up we have had an indifferent start to the season both with results and performance. In our last outing we showed some positives and were unlucky not to get something from the match. With a little more quality, we will start to pick up the results that we are striving for and make this a Good Friday. Mick Steedon has got Mount Albert coming to Memorial Park on the back of two big wins against Papatoetoe and Metro and we will be out to stop that run today. They have some proven Northern League performers in Jared Colligan, Dim Hayhow and Robyn Graeme that will definitely be players to watch and ones to get the better of if we are to come away with the points today. Here's to another season for the mighty Manurewa. We look forward to seeing you all down here in the coming weeks and having a beer after. This weekend see the First team and the Reserves have their first home game for the season. The season hasn’t started as we had planned with 3 away loses which have been close but not been able to score goals being the let-down. We welcome Steve Carmichael and Anthony Cibilch to the team and hope they can help score goals. The Reserves started the season with a win against Mangere but then unfortunately lost to Ellerslie and Eastern Suburbs by the narrowest of margins but I’m sure they can bounce back today against Mt Albert Ponsonby. The First team and Reserves are the only games this weekend so I am sure they would love to see you all at Stanmore Bay Park Hibiscus Coast on Monday for your support. The Div 4 side couldn’t have started the season any better being unbeaten in the first two games downing Western Springs then downing last year champs Unimount 2-1 last weekend. This is a new team this year and I’m sure they can only get better so well done guys may it continue for the rest of the season. The Div 6 team are yet to post their first win but considering they have only been together for 4-5 weeks things can only get better. I’m sure things will get better as the season progresses. They are still looking for a couple more players so if you know of anyone please let us know—thanks. The Over 30’s started off the season with a great 2-1 win over Western Springs then going down to Fencibles last week 3-0. Only a minor setback and I’m sure they can bounce back next week against Metro. The Over 35’s haven’t started as well as they had hoped going down 2 nil to Mangere and Beachlands.

Box 75 122 War Memorial Park Manurewa Gibbs Rd Auckland Manurewa Phone: (09) 267 1120 Welcome to Mangere United to the second round of the NRFL first and reserves. This is second of four home games. Over these weeks of home fixtures it is time to get in behind both sides with the support they need to cross the line and turn the tables around. Don’t give up. Last week’s game was a goody and playing like that is what’s needed week in and out. As the season moves on think back as to whose helping, organising, doing that bit extra, managing, in all areas of the club so their names can be put forward to the different committees for possible end of year awards. I mentioned a couple last week. You should all by now have your raffle tickets yes even I got a book. Put in the effort - I have 5 left easy to sell with the great prizes. To all members a reminder that the club draw is at 6pm and while you wait with a drink or two or something from the cafe, sit and discuss the what could have been or now to make it better for all those involved with the game. A warm welcome Albany United, your players, coaching staff and supporters who have crossed the bridge for today’s clash. This is an important game for both teams. We hope to see you all in the clubrooms after the game for our hospitality. I would like to also extend a warm welcome to our new sponsor Auckland Abrasive Blast and Coatings (2005) Ltd, as well as those who have supported us long and hard this season. The past fortnight our men’s team has had two big games. A fortnight ago the guys played in the Chatham Cup up at Stanmore Bay against Hibiscus Coast and although they didn’t come away victors they certainly gave it their all. In fact to the point a penalty shootout had to decide who would advance to the next cup round. A credit must go to Mark, Scotty, Preston and Sean, as well as the boys, for the efforts they are putting in this season.

We Are North Shore SATURDAY 13th MAY 2017 – KICK OFF 2PM CHATHAM CUP – RD1 OFFICIAL MATCH DAY PROGRAMME OPPOSITION: METRO FC HEAD COACH– Tom Speers Good afternoon and welcome back to the the Hill for the 1st round of the Chatham Cup. I would like to welcome Mike and his Metro team here today, I expect it to be a lot tighter game than when they visited in the first game of season and I'm sure they will be looking to do a lot better than the 7-0 they experienced here that day. I love being part of the Cup and as there is only one cup competition in NZ I'm looking forward to hopefully going far. This club has a rich history in this cup, winning it 6 times, the last being in 1986, so fingers crossed we can progress into the later rounds of the competition and be there or there about towards the end. You can see the success we have had in this competition all over the clubhouse walls and talking with former players who have won it, we know how important it is to the club that we represent the club properly, so unlike the rumours I have been hearing, we will be playing a full strength squad and hoping every club in this competition do the same, resting players when you only have 1 game a week would be disrespectful to the longest cup competition on the planet and also be quite embarrassing for the clubs that do so. I hope you have a good day and hopefully see us progress, get behind the boys and make some noise.

While most normal people are pigging out on Easter eggs and hot cross buns the football fraternity will be slogging it 2011 out on fi elds up and down the country. I’m sure there’s a good reason why we do it... Management Our start to the season has been solid enough. A close Committee loss at Manurewa was followed by a home victory over Onehunga Mangere that was a little more exciting than it Patron needed to be. Last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Takapuna was Jack Poole a real battle. It took us until mid-June to get our fi rst point in Auckland last season, so it was great to get that little President monkey off the back nice and early this time around. After last season’s stirling efforts we fi nd ourselves in Northern Region Football League (NRFL) division 1, which is not bad considering it meant 2011 we achieved two promotions in the course of a season to get here. Now our task is to stay here. Management We started with a good performance last week at Committee Manurewa. While we didn’t get a result it was good to see the new faces settle in well and a couple of youngsters Patron make the most of their chance in the side. We now have Jack Poole to do it again this week and also look to get those fi rst three points on the board. President Welcome to Fabio and his Onehunga Mangere team. We Dwayne Barlow know very little about you guys and, judging by the team Vice-President sheet, it appears you’ve had quite a turnover of players Peter Challis during the off-season. WE AREARE NORTHNORTH SHORESHORE UNITEDUNITED SATURDAY 2nd SEPTEMBER 2017 – KICK OFF 3PM NRFL – RD 22 Fixture OFFICIAL MATCH DAY PROGRAMME OPPOSITION: MANUKAU CITY Tom Speers - Head Coach Welcome back to the Hill which sees us host our final game of the 2017 season. Firstly our huge congratulations to our visitors, Kevin and his Manukau team, who have achieved back to back promotions. This is a great achievement considering how difficult the league was this year, we wish them luck for next year. As it is our final game I’d like to thank a couple of people who have not only supported me but have helped the club massively this year, Tom Bray, Bill Lissington and Ben Wall, without your help this year would have not gone as smoothly as it has, so thank you. Reflecting on the year, even though we didn't achieve our main target, we can still be pleased with our efforts, considering only 3 members of our team survived from the 2016 season, building a new squad and still accumulating enough points to have gone is still something to be proud of. This years league was extremely competitive, and with the young squad we have I’m sure we will only push on next year. I would like to thank all the sponsors for their continued support as without you the club would not be able to run. And lastly I’d like to thank you, the fans, for your support, it has been great to have your backing week in week out and I know the boys and myself have really appreciated it.
