Kerry Bevan President A WORD FROM THE CLUB MANAGER Afternoon to all, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all those who have come down today. Manurewa AFC have recently appointed myself in the role of Club Manager where I will oversee the general management of both the on-field action and off-field administration. Firstly thank you to those who have offered me this opportunity to lead the club into the future and I hope we can work together to improve this great club we have. Thank you to all the volunteer coaches, managers, parents, club officials, the tireless work of those on the various committees, and to the players and fans, you are the heart of this club and I hope you enjoy every suc- cess this season. I look forward to meeting you all and invite you to come upstairs for a drink and a chat after any of our First Team games. Good luck to the Div. 6 boys, the old fellas in the O35's, Martinez and the Ressies, and Nath's 1st team squad. To all the juniors and youth I hope you enjoyed a successful morning. Supporters you guys are awesome! Thank you all for coming down to cheer on our teams we appreciate it all and hopefully you are repaid with goals and points! Cheers to all, Kieran Nevey Club Manager Reserve Coaches Comments Welcome to the First team and reserves from MAP today. I'm sure with where both teams are sitting on the table, we will be in for two tough battles on the pitch. Today we are looking to build on our performance against Hibiscus coast last weekend. I thought the character and attitude was great with the squad, however, 2 defensive lapses combined with little creativity up front cost us a result. This week we have worked on both areas so am hoping the improvements are shown on the field. Good luck to our first team today - let's hope we can sweep the 6 points available. What a difference a year makes. At this point in the 2015 season, and the last few seasons if we’re being honest, both Mt Albert and Manurewa have battled hard to stay clear of the relegation zone. After numerous personnel changes to both squads in the off-season, the fortunes of both teams have significantly altered as we are now battling to make our mark in this league and potentially a higher league next season. This year has been different to the rest, with surprising results each week and no one being able to guarantee taking all 3 points and after almost 1 round gone, there are 8 points separating 2nd and 11th. It makes for an exciting spectacle for the neutral, and an equally trying one for the coaching staff. Today we also welcome back ex Manurewa youth player and fan favourite Dylan Teat. After some aggressive courting, and subsequently beating off of all other teams for his early-season signature, Mt Albert have got themselves a great prospect for the future. I’m sure he is earning a similar reputation for himself at Mt Albert as he did at Manurewa and I know the Rewa supporters will be keen to give him a rousing reception. With Mt Albert coming off a string of results, and our own performance last weekend, today sets itself up to be a quality game of football. Let’s enjoy. Reserves are 6th on the table after the loss to HBC but they played well it didn’t help Daniel Thomas came of injured in the 18th minute with Adam white coming on to bring some speed to the team up front .Player of the day Anmol Shankar headed Manurewa in front but only to conceded 2 sloppy goals to end the match 1-2.

Box 75 122 War Memorial Park Manurewa Gibbs Rd Auckland Manurewa Phone: (09) 267 1120 Welcome to Mangere United to the second round of the NRFL first and reserves. This is second of four home games. Over these weeks of home fixtures it is time to get in behind both sides with the support they need to cross the line and turn the tables around. Don’t give up. Last week’s game was a goody and playing like that is what’s needed week in and out. As the season moves on think back as to whose helping, organising, doing that bit extra, managing, in all areas of the club so their names can be put forward to the different committees for possible end of year awards. I mentioned a couple last week. You should all by now have your raffle tickets yes even I got a book. Put in the effort - I have 5 left easy to sell with the great prizes. To all members a reminder that the club draw is at 6pm and while you wait with a drink or two or something from the cafe, sit and discuss the what could have been or now to make it better for all those involved with the game. A warm welcome Albany United, your players, coaching staff and supporters who have crossed the bridge for today’s clash. This is an important game for both teams. We hope to see you all in the clubrooms after the game for our hospitality. I would like to also extend a warm welcome to our new sponsor Auckland Abrasive Blast and Coatings (2005) Ltd, as well as those who have supported us long and hard this season. The past fortnight our men’s team has had two big games. A fortnight ago the guys played in the Chatham Cup up at Stanmore Bay against Hibiscus Coast and although they didn’t come away victors they certainly gave it their all. In fact to the point a penalty shootout had to decide who would advance to the next cup round. A credit must go to Mark, Scotty, Preston and Sean, as well as the boys, for the efforts they are putting in this season.

We Are North Shore SATURDAY 13th MAY 2017 – KICK OFF 2PM CHATHAM CUP – RD1 OFFICIAL MATCH DAY PROGRAMME OPPOSITION: METRO FC HEAD COACH– Tom Speers Good afternoon and welcome back to the the Hill for the 1st round of the Chatham Cup. I would like to welcome Mike and his Metro team here today, I expect it to be a lot tighter game than when they visited in the first game of season and I'm sure they will be looking to do a lot better than the 7-0 they experienced here that day. I love being part of the Cup and as there is only one cup competition in NZ I'm looking forward to hopefully going far. This club has a rich history in this cup, winning it 6 times, the last being in 1986, so fingers crossed we can progress into the later rounds of the competition and be there or there about towards the end. You can see the success we have had in this competition all over the clubhouse walls and talking with former players who have won it, we know how important it is to the club that we represent the club properly, so unlike the rumours I have been hearing, we will be playing a full strength squad and hoping every club in this competition do the same, resting players when you only have 1 game a week would be disrespectful to the longest cup competition on the planet and also be quite embarrassing for the clubs that do so. I hope you have a good day and hopefully see us progress, get behind the boys and make some noise.
