Melville United Football Academy MELVILLE UNITED FOOTBALL ACADEMY THE MELVILLE UNITED FOOTBALL ACADEMY PROVIDES A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR ELITE YOUNG PLAYERS TO ACCELERATE THEIR DEVELOPMENT AND REACH THEIR POTENTIAL AS FOOTBALLERS. MELVILLE UNITED FOOTBALL ACADEMY The MELVILLE UNITED FOOTBALL Academy provides a unique opportunity for young players to accelerate their development and reach their potential as footballers. The programme aims to replicate the model used in professional European academies by combining elite level coaching with an advanced training programme. The academy provides elite level players with a regular and consistent programme while still balancing their training load with their school football and extra curricular commitments. HOW IS THE ACADEMY STRUCTURED? The Academy is open to players in 14th grade age group from any club . The Academy is designed to be an elite programme and will work on the princicipal of having the best local players training and playing with each other. Due to the elite nature of the Academy, entry onto the programme is by selection only and designed for players who have already demonstrated an ability to perform and develop at an advanced level. By grouping the best local players together, the Academy provides an opportunity for players who are already at an advanced level to challenge and stretch each others devleopment. The Academy team will play in the Waibop Federation 14th grade compeition. There is a requirement that all players register with Melville United Football Club in order to be eligable for this competition. WHAT DOES THE ACADEMY PROVIDE? • A unique full time coaching curriculum. • Elite level qualifed coaches. • Individual player reports. • Full training kit. • Individual learning plan. • Individual physical development programme. • Game days. • Advanced holiday training camps • Video analysis programme. • Guest coaches. ACADEMY SCHEDULE Tuesday Wednesday Sunday 4.45pm-6.00pm 4.45pm-6.00pm Game Additional game days will be arranged to ft around player’s training and match commitments. KEY DATES • Tuesday December 6th 2016, 4.45pm - Academy taster session. • Saturday December 10th 2016, 9am - Academy taster session. • Saturday January 14th 2017, 9am - Academy taster session. ACADEMY BENEFITS The primary aim of the Melville United Football Academy is to ensure ALL members improve and develop as players. At the completion of their time on the academy programme we want every player to be able to play at the highest level they possibly can. Through our extensive network of contacts around the world we are able to provide the following playing and training opportunities. • Training and trialling opportunities in the UK academy system. • ASB Premiership, National Youth League and Northern League. • Professional and semi-professional playing opportunities in the UK, Australia and America. • American college scholarship opportunities. • Full time University training programmes in Hamilton and Auckland. • Auckland FTC and National NTC preperation. HOW LONG DOES THE ACADEMY RUN FOR? The Academy training programme will run all year round, with a Sunday games programme running through terms 2 and 3. There will be additional game days in term 1 and 4. LOCATION Gower Park, Hamilton. WHAT IS THE COST OF THE ACADEMY PROGRAMME? $1100 + GST per year. ACADEMY DIRECTORS SAM WILKINSON A former Melville United, Waikato FC and Auckland City player, Sam recently returned to New Zealand after six years of coaching in the English Academy system. During that time Sam worked at West Bromwich Albion FC as the U14 coach and more recently at Birmingham City FC as the full time U16 coach. Sam is a holder of the UEFA A License and the English FA Youth Award and has a degree in Physical Education. Sam is currently First Team Co-head coach and a Football Development Ofcer for Melville United. MICHAEL MAYNE A former Melville United Player, Waikato FC & Waitakere United national league player, and NZ age group representative, Michael has returned to the Waikato after 8 years living in Auckland. Michael holds a degree in Coaching and Physical Education and the OFC B License. His most recent coaching roles include the NZ U20 Women and leading Waitemata FC to back-to-back promotions to the NRFL Division 1.     2015 Competition Regulations Northern Regional Football League Men’s Reserves Knockout Competition 1. Reference to General Provisions These regulations are specific competition regulations governing aspects of play and procedure as allowed under Section 4 of the AFF Federation Competition Regulations, Senior and 19th Grade Men, Senior Women, General Provisions. The General Provisions shall apply to NRFL Reserves Knockout Competition as well as these specific competition regulations, with the proviso that where there is a contradiction between the two, these specific regulations shall take precedence. 2. Participation Participation in the NRFL Reserves Knockout Competition shall be open to the reserves teams of all clubs within the boundaries of Federations One, Two and Three as specified in NZ Football Statutes, Regulations and codes, that are qualified to play in any men’s division of the NRFL competition, subject to the granting annually of any further sanction or permission required in NZF or Federation Rules or Policies. For the 2015 season, participation shall be open to the two AFF teams sanctioned to play in the NRFL Division 2 Reserves league. An area or regional team from within a Federation may participate in the NRFL Reserves Knockout Competition only if it is the sole representative of that area, subject to the approval of both the home Federation in which the team is based and the NRFL Competitions Manager. As a condition of entry all clubs and teams that participate in the NRFL Reserves Knockout Competition shall abide by these specific competition regulations, as set down or amended from time to time by AFF. All qualifying teams shall be automatically entered into the NRFL Reserves Knockout competition, and a draw made.
