Responsibility for both the accuracy of the data and completeness and fairness of the presentation, including all disclosures, rests with the managemetrt of the Board of Education (the "Board"). To the best of our knowledge and belief, the data presented in this report is accurate in all rnaterial respects and is reported in a rnanuer designed to present fairly tlie basic financial statements and results of operations of the District. All disclosures llecessary to enable the reader to gain au understanding of the District's financial activities have been inclLrded. The comprehensive annual financial repoft is presented in four sections: introductory, fìuancial, statistical and single audit. The introductory section includes this transmittal letter, the District's organizational chart and a list of principal officials. Tlie financial section includes the Independent Auditors' Report, the lnanagement's discussion and analysis, the basic financial statements and notes providing an overview of the District's financial position and operating results, and supplementary schedules providing detailed budgetary information. The statistical section includes selected financial and demographic inforrnation, financial trends and tlie fiscal capacity of the District, generally presented on a multi-year basis. The District is required to undergo an annual single audit in conformity with the provisions of Title 2 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations Part 200, Unifornt Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirentents for Federal Awards, and the New Jersey's OMB Circular 15-08, Single Audit Policy for Recipients of Federal GranÍs, State Grants and Sture Aid. Information related to this single audit, including the auditors' repofts on the internal control and cornpliance with applicable laws, regulations, contracts and grants along with findings and questioned costs, is included in the single audit section of this report. I) REPORTING AND ITS SERVICES The Township of Wayne Public Schools is an independent repofting entity within the criteria adopted by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board ("GASB") in codification section 2100. This resulted in eleven consecutive posters, which when mounted side by side, create a %foot mural. The timeline exhibits and describes the millstones of physics in images and words. The timeline functions as a chronology, a work of art, a permanent open textbook, and a gigantic photo album covering a hundred years in the life of the community of physicists and the existence of the American Physical Society . Each of the eleven posters begins with a brief essay that places a major scientific achievement of the decade in its historical context. Large portraits of the essays’ subjects include youthful photographs of Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, and Richard Feynman among others, to help put a face on science. Below the essays, a total of over 130 individual discoveries and inventions, explained in dated text boxes with accompanying images, form the backbone of the timeline. For ease of comprehension, this wealth of material is organized into five color- coded story lines the stretch horizontally across the hundred years of the 20th century.
