Recommended CEF Call Proposal Code Proposal Title Proposal Description Funding**, € AP-General 2016-BE-TA-0214-W LoNofts 2 - Low-Noise The Action addresses the rail freight noise 1,755,797 Freight Transport emissions at source by retrofitting composite LL- Solution brakes on 4,157 freight wagons. The ICER-Becorit IB116 brake blocs already homologated by the European Railway Agency will be used. In addition, the brake regime of 165 wagons must be adapted to comply with the technical UIC guidelines for LL- brakes. The concerned rolling stock circulates on the Rhine-Alpine, the North Sea-Mediterranean and the North Sea Baltic Core Network Corridors.

AP-General 2016-BE-TA-0303-W Electrification of the The 19 cross-border railway line between the 18,520,000 Mol-Weert (Belgian stations of Mol in and Weert in The part) railway line Netherlands is located on the Comprehensive Network and consists of a single track line which is not electrified. The line is used both by passenger and freight traffic, using diesel engines. The Action aims to electrify railway line 19 and thereby improve accessibility for the Belgian province of Limburg and improve the cross-border railway connections between Belgium and The Netherlands. It concerns the electrification of the Belgian section of the line between Mol and the Belgian-Dutch border in Hamont as well as the construction and equipment of three traction substations. AP-General 2016-BE-TA-0345-W Connection of the The Action concerns Phase 2 of the Global Project 2,800,000 intermodal node in which aims at bridging a missing cross-border link at Athus to the French the southern end of the Athus- railway line, railway network between the Athus railroad terminal in Belgium and the French rail network. The works concern a construction of a 465 metre railway track, displacing a number of the existing railway infrastructure elements as well as catenary, signalling and electrification works. When completed, a direct connection between the Belgian and French railway network will be established in the region. AP-General 2016-EU-TA-0174-S Implementation study The Action concerns cross-border (comprehensive 153,170 for optimisation of the network) railway infrastructure in the Ghent- cross-border rail Terneuzen port area. The ports themselves are infrastructure in the located on the North Sea-Mediterranean Core port area Ghent- Network Corridor. The Action is part of a global Terneuzen project aiming to optimise this rail infrastructure in order to improve accessibility, sustainability and external safety of the port area. It consists of technical, legal and financial studies which will form the basis for a decision on the scope and start of future works.

AP-General 2016-EU-TA-0185-S Sharing of train The Action will develop software to enable 329,934 tracking & ETA electronic exchange of information on the information estimated time of arrival of trains at terminals and at hand-over points in the logistic chain, on part of the Rhine-Alpine Core Network Corridor. It will include assessment of available information, software and needs from stakeholders, development and testing of a tailored IT tool accessible to all of them. Results will be implementable and replicable for the whole intermodal and rail freight sector. They will constitute a basis to make rail freight more attractive to shippers and improve usage of train services, reducing the environmental footprint of freight transport.

Recommended CEF Call Proposal Code Proposal Title Proposal Description Funding**, € MAP-General 2016-BE-TM-0006-M Shared ATC System The Action aims to develop and deploy a "Virtual 5,555,181 (SAS) 2 Centre" by which Air Traffic management (ATM) data can be provided as a service by a civil ATM System (Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC)) to a military Air Traffic Service Unit (ATSU), namely Belgian Defence. The deployment will allow the military ATSU to perform live air traffic control operations fed by the remote ATM Data Service Provider. The Action comprises five activities to develop and deploy the data services concept: the development of installation requirements for Belgian Defence; the implementation of changes in the MUAC Primary Air Traffic Services System; development, testing and deployment of the shared ATC System; and supporting activities to ensure approval of the System by regulatory authorities. MAP-General 2016-BE-TM-0289-S C-Roads The Action is part of the C-Roads Platform and takes 2,164,500 Belgium/Wallonia place in Belgium. C-Roads is a platform of Member States working on the deployment of C-ITS services in Europe. C-ITS pilot sites will be installed across the EU for testing and later operation of Day 1 and Day 1.5 applications as recommended by the EC C- ITS platform. Member States will invest in their infrastructure, while the industry will test components and services. Technical and organisational issues will be tackled by the C-Roads platform to ensure interoperability and harmonization of C-ITS between pilots. The pilot in Wallonia consists of a cloud-based solution to connect road users to Traffic Management Centres and test the performance of 3G-4G/LTE networks for C-ITS safety services. MAP-General 2016-BE-TM-0297-W Deployment of ETCS The Action is part of the Belgian ETCS Masterplan 5,250,000 Bsl3 L1+L2 on 57 HLE and of the applicants' strategy for migration of the 13 locomotive - retrofit existing rolling stock to ERTMS. It concerns the action to promote retrofitting of 57 electrical motor units type HLE 13 safety and cross-border with ETCS Level 1 and 2, Baseline 3. The transport locomotives will be used for freight and passenger services on the Core and Comprehensive Networks in Belgium, including on the Belgian parts of the Core Network Corridors, and for cross-border services with and . The Action includes prototyping and retrofitting activities. As a result, the traffic management, safety and interoperability conditions on the entire Belgian railway network and on three cross-border sections with France and Luxembourg will improve. MAP-General 2016-BE-TM-0298-W ETCS L2 trackside The Belgian network serves as a railway hub 2,355,000 deployment on 2 cross connecting the harbours of Antwerp, Ghent and border sections of the Zeebrugge to Europe's main industrial regions, and Core network Corridors as a pivot in the European high speed rail network. The Action concerns the deployment of ERTMS Level 2, Baseline 2, release 2.3.0d on two cross- border sections with the Netherlands and Luxembourg, with a total length of 86.06 km of equivalent double-track. The sections are located on the Belgian part of the North Sea-Baltic and the North Sea-Mediterranean Core Network Corridors. The Action is a part of the Belgian ETCS Masterplan and aims to improve the safety, capacity and interoperability conditions on the concerned CNCs and to allow seamless cross-border rail operations with the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

Recommended CEF Call Proposal Code Proposal Title Proposal Description Funding**, € MAP-General 2016-EU-TM-0117-M 2016 SESAR The Action contributes to the deployment of SESAR 18,397,670 Deployment and is aimed at facilitating the coordinated and Programme synchronised deployment of a cluster of 65 implementation - Implementation Projects (IPs) in EU Member States. Cluster 1: General These IPs are aligned with the Pilot Common Projects (PCP, Regulation (EU) No 716/2014) and will enhance ATM performance. This Action includes IPs of all six ATM Functionalities (AFs): - AF1 Extended Arrival Management and Performance Based Navigation in high density Terminal Manoeuvring Areas - AF2 Airport Integration and Throughput - AF3 Flexible Airspace Management and Free Route - AF4 Network Collaborative Management - AF5 Initial System Wide Information Management - AF6 Initial Trajectory Information Sharing MAP-General 2016-EU-TM-0148-S SOCRATES 2.0 The Action aims to test and evaluate new and 734,500 extended traffic management and related mobile and in-car services, as well as to deliver traffic management data communication standards relevant at EU level. The Action will design and implement four pilots in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Munich and Antwerp where some Day 1 and Day 1.5 services will be tested by 9,000 users. In addition, the Action will define a cooperation framework for interactive traffic management for road authorities, service providers and car industries. The Action expects to improve traffic information, traffic management and road safety, as well as promote interoperability and seamless cross-border door-to-door mobility at EU level. MAP-General 2016-EU-TM-0175-S H2Benelux While hydrogen fuel cell technology is on the way 3,498,000 towards full technological maturity, its market development is still facing barriers. The Action's overall objective is to accelerate the market development of hydrogen as a fuel for road transport. It is part of a global project aiming to fully develop a trans-European hydrogen refuelling network in Benelux. The Action consists of the deployment with real life trials of 12 hydrogen refuelling stations (HRS) in Benelux (1 in Luxemburg, 5 in Belgium and 6 in the Netherlands) across 3 Core Network Corridors and 120 fuel cell electric vehicles. Operations will be assessed to define business models for the HRS, the client relationship and to define a business plan for the roll out. Results will be widely disseminated. MAP-General 2016-EU-TM-0277-S BENEFIC The Action aims to support the roll-out for cross- 5,311,570 border deployment of alternative fuel infrastructure in Belgium (regions of Flanders and Capital) and in the Netherlands. The Action consists of a grant scheme covering the respective sections of the Core Network. The grant scheme will address several priorities for innovation and on the deployment of alternative fuels (fast and semi-fast charging points, liquefied and compressed natural gas, hydrogen, onshore power supply and innovation on core nodes) for different modes. It covers studies with pilot deployment on urban nodes and works. A joint call for proposals will be launched in 2017. Action results will be evaluated through a study assessing its replicability in the EU. MAP-General 2016-EU-TM-0316-W Arc Atlantique Phase 3 The Action aims at bridging gaps in ITS services and 1,567,000 improving safety along the North Sea- Mediterranean and Atlantic Corridors. To that aim, the Action will deliver works focused on improving real-time traffic information services and cross- border traffic management, as well as on creating national access points and deploying ITS systems on a wide scale. The Action will have positive impacts in interoperability and safety and will reduce traffic congestion and emissions.

Recommended CEF Call Proposal Code Proposal Title Proposal Description Funding**, € MAP-General 2016-EU-TM-0327-S CONCORDA CONCORDA will prepare the European motorways 1,693,914 for automated driving and high density truck platooning with adequate connected services and technologies. The main objective of the Action is to assess performance of the hybrid communication under real traffic situations. The Action will elaborate, agree and potentially validate issues related to hybrid, safe and secure communication, digital infrastructure and positioning accuracy, that require a consensus between sector-specific viewpoints. The Action builds upon the EATA (European Automotive Telecommunication Alliance), which will share best practices and ensure a consensus between telecom operators and the automotive industry on communication technologies for C-ITS towards automation.
