2015-2016 Calendar of Events OUR BOARD OF EDUCATION

Members of the Board of Education are: Terms Expire:

PRESIDENT Mrs. Kathleen O’Flynn 2015 VICE PRESIDENT Dr. Tim Santo 2 0 1 7 Mrs. Krista Flinn 2017 Mrs. Shane Svorec 2015 Mr. Salvatore Sileo 2015

All Board meetings are open to the public except those portions permitted by law to be discussed in Executive Session. Board meetings are generally held on the second and fourth Monday of each month, beginning at 7:00 PM for worksessions and regular meetings. Meetings are rotated among the three schools. A schedule of all meetings and locations is listed on our district website. Meeting agendas are also posted on our website, at the three schools, in local newspapers, and at Borough Hall at least 48 hours prior to a meeting. For additional information, contact the Business Administrator or Dear Parents: Superintendent of Schools. Please check the district website www.hillsdaleschools.com for any Board of Education meeting changes. I think that we would all agree that it is not easy being a child today, which makes it even more difficult to be a parent. As a parent myself, I can understand the emotions and concerns you often feel regarding your child.

Therefore, I can assure you that our entire staff will be committed to providing all the children of Hillsdale an outstanding educational experience. However, educating our children will be a responsibility that we all need to share in. Please be active and engage your child in conversation about school and maintain ongoing positive communication with your child’s teachers. I also encourage you to be active in the PTA/FFA or other school organizations.

Each year brings on an array of challenges and changes academically, socially, physically, and emotionally for children. We are sensitive to these changes and look forward to working with you in order to meet the needs of your child.

I am confident that together, through the nurturing and support received athome and school, we can make our children successful. We welcome you as partners in the educational process. Together, let’s continue to make Hillsdale “A Great Place to Grow Up!”
