The cardinal Alessandro Farnese purchased a section of the Palatine in 1550 and created beautiful botanical Did you know? gardens, featuring a nymphaeum, an aviary, and a wealth of art. Although the gardens fell into disuse over time, some parts can still be visited today. Next Location Florence to Padua Take public rail from Florence Santa Maria Novella station to Padua. Day 9 Day Friday, May 11, 2018 • Walk to Padua rail station on own and take rail from Padua to Venice (open ticket, no seat reservations. Trains leave every 5 minutes, duration 14-min to 50-min) • Upon arrival in Venice, guide meets at Venice St Lucia rail station • Enjoy a 3-hour walking tour of Venice Itinerary • Private gondola ride at the Bauer Gondola Station • Free time for the remainder of the afternoon in Venice • Rail transfer on own back to Padua. These typically run every 5 minutes. • Included admission: Doges Palace, St Mark's Basilica, rail ticket from Venice to Padua and private 35- minute gondola ride. Dining Breakfast: Provided at hotel
