Galleria Colonna "Just Like Versailles"

This gallery is attached to Palazzo Colonna and is made up of six rooms, richly decorated with ceiling frescoes and a host of beautiful paintings like Annibale Carracci's il Mangiafagioli. There are also two writing desks, which are marvelous works of art and well worth seeing. The first desk is decorated in semi-precious stone with bronze statuettes and the second is decorated with inlaid ivory. Unfortunately, this splendid gallery is only open once a week, but it is definitely worth visiting in order to see these unique pieces.

Doria Pamphilj Gallery "Art & Refinement"

Palazzo Doria Pamphilj built in the 17th Century was once the home to Roman royalty. It now houses one of the most prestigious art collections in the city. This collection features some of the most iconic artworks from Renaissance era. The Scuderie del Quirinale is an marvelous form of imposing structure in the heart of Rome. The venue is a beehive of exhibitions and events at any given time. Palazzo Delle Esposizioni with its statues and Corinthian columns, designed by Piacentini, hosts temporary exhibitions of paintings, sculpture, and graphics, which are changed every three months. There is also a small cinema that shows foreign-language films and the occasional theatrical performance at Palazzo Delle Esposizioni. In addition, there is a well-stocked bookshop, a design shop, a bar and a restaurant on the terrace. Next to the complex is the Visual Arts Research and Documentation Center, an archive that contains data on contemporary Italian and international art.

Located in the neighborhood of Monti, Gagosian Gallery is definitely one of the must visit galleries while in Rome. The lavish ambiance of this gallery promotes typical Roman features and its nature. The National Gallery of Ancient Art (Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica)

"Three Great Baroque Architects"

The National Gallery of Ancient Art (Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica) houses works by Caravaggio, Raffaello, Tintoretto, and Holbein, among many others. These paintings belong to the Barberini family's massive by Jean-Pierre Dalbéra from collection, most of which is scattered all over the world. Baroque Paris, France architects Maderno, Bernini, and Borromini designed the palace. Two grand staircases lead to the main floor: the larger one was designed by Bernini and the smaller, oval construction by Borromini. On the first floor, the large ceiling of the Salone (main hall) was covered in frescoed by Piertro da Cortona and depicts the triumph of Pope Urban VIII. You'll notice the Bernini family symbol, a bee, painted or sculpted almost everywhere in the building.

Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica di Palazzo Corsini is a slice of Roman history. Bramante and Michelangelo stayed here, and Queen Cristina of Sweden died in one of the palazzo's apartments in 1689. In 1736, the palace was completely transformed into a residence for Cardinal Corsini. by AlexanderVanLoon Works by Rubens, Van Dyck and Murillo are on display, as well as Caravaggio's Narcissus. Other artists include Guercino and Fra Angelico. The Palazzo is also the seat of the Accademia dei Lincei, a cultural training center that started in the 15th Century. Galileo Galilei was among one of its members. Located in the neighborhood of Monti, Istituto Svizzero di Roma promotes artistic and cultural influences between Switzerland and Italy. This institution, inaugurated in 1947, was founded by the Swiss Confederation. Villa Maraini is where the main office is, to manage the operations. Villa Medici "School of the Greatest"

In the 16th Century, Villa Medici was built on the Pincio hill, and was named "Medici" when Cardinal Ferdinando de' Medici acquired it from the Ricci da Montepulciano family. The exterior walls of the villa are decorated with Roman statues and bas-reliefs, as if to create an open-air museum, a style which was much in fashion at that time. This was possible then by Nicolas Esposito because during the construction of large residences, archaeological remains were inevitably found during excavations for the foundations, and so these discoveries were more chance findings than systematic digs. The villa is the seat of the French Academy, created to enable young French painters to study in Rome. At present the gardens are closed for restoration, but art exhibitions are organized, generally hosted in an interior called the rimessone, where carriages were once parked, now concerts are performed here. The illustrious students of the French Academy include: Fragonard Berlioz and Debussy, who studied here after the Academy had extended its activity to music as well as painting.

The collection housed in this Neo-classical building includes works from the 19th and 20th Centuries. The 19th-century works are mostly those of the Macchiaioli (Florentine impressionist painters), a movement similar to puntinismo (pointillism), a style based on the use of spots of color to create paintings whose subjects were distinguishable only from a certain by _Pek_ distance.
