Galleria Colonna "Just Like Versailles"

This gallery is attached to and is made up of six rooms, richly decorated with ceiling frescoes and a host of beautiful like 's il Mangiafagioli. There are also two writing desks, which are marvelous works of art and well worth seeing. The first desk is decorated in semi-precious stone with bronze statuettes and the second is decorated with inlaid ivory. Unfortunately, this splendid gallery is only open once a week, but it is definitely worth visiting in order to see these unique pieces.

The National Gallery of Ancient Art (Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica) houses works by Caravaggio, Raffaello, Tintoretto, and Holbein, among many others. These paintings belong to the Barberini family's massive by Jean-Pierre Dalbéra from collection, most of which is scattered all over the world. Baroque Paris, France architects Maderno, Bernini, and Borromini designed the palace. Two grand staircases lead to the main floor: the larger one was designed by Bernini and the smaller, oval construction by Borromini. On the first floor, the large ceiling of the Salone (main hall) was covered in frescoed by Piertro da Cortona and depicts the triumph of Pope Urban VIII. You'll notice the Bernini family symbol, a bee, painted or sculpted almost everywhere in the building.

Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica di Palazzo Corsini is a slice of Roman history. Bramante and Michelangelo stayed here, and Queen Cristina of Sweden died in one of the palazzo's apartments in 1689. Villa Medici "School of the Greatest"

In the 16th Century, was built on the Pincio hill, and was named "Medici" when Cardinal Ferdinando de' Medici acquired it from the Ricci da Montepulciano family. The exterior walls of the villa are decorated with Roman statues and bas-reliefs, as if to create an open-air museum, a style which was much in fashion at that time. This was possible then by Nicolas Esposito because during the construction of large residences, archaeological remains were inevitably found during excavations for the foundations, and so these discoveries were more chance findings than systematic digs. The villa is the seat of the French Academy, created to enable young French painters to study in Rome. At present the gardens are closed for restoration, but art exhibitions are organized, generally hosted in an interior called the rimessone, where carriages were once parked, now concerts are performed here. The illustrious students of the French Academy include: Fragonard Berlioz and Debussy, who studied here after the Academy had extended its activity to music as well as .
