PEEK OF THE WEEK 1st Grade - Miss Martin

Happy Easter, everyone! It is hard to believe we are already in the Easter Season with only a few months left in our school year. It is so exciting for me to see the kids growing in their faith and their education so beautifully! I am so proud to see how these kids have progressed since the beginning of the year.

One of the highlights for myself and the first graders this quarter was being able to learn about the certain parts of a race car. Once we learned about race cars, we took to our engineering skills and discovered how to take different parts and create our own race cars!

We have also broadened our writing skills by writing a personal narrative. First graders learned that to make a great personal story, we need to start from our big watermelon moment and figure out what the seed was - what made that moment so special. This group showed me how creative they can be with their thoughts and words.

This year has gone by so fast. It has been an honor teaching and learning with these students. To see how much they have grown and changed has brought me so much joy. I can’t wait to see what they do in these last two months!

Thank you for supporting St. Francis de Sales Catholic School.
