The G. Camerano & Figli is located in the heart of the “Old Langa” region, within the village of Barolo. Founded in 1875, Camerano is the second oldest producer within the commune of Barolo. The family has been producing traditional, classic Piemontese wines for 5 generations on their estate-owned . From extreme, low-yield vines to using time honored, ultra-tradition- al methods. In 1995, the daughter Francesca took charge of the marketing and son Vittorio stepped into the position.

They are virtually never found alongside the prized Nebbiolo vines in vineyards that are normally dedicated to producing grapes for Barolo. The Camerano, Dolcetto d’Alba is planted in the middle of their estate grown Terlo vineyard, where the entire area’s vineyards are otherwise devoted by Cam- erano and every neighboring vineyard, exclusively to the cultivation of Nebbiolo for Barolo. The result is Dolcetto that is full bodied, rich and one of the most stunning examples of Dolcetto produced in . Camerano 2004 Barolo ‘Cannubi San Lorenzo’ - 12/750ml List $620 Net $580 Cannubi, also known as Cannubio, is derived from the Italian word for union, which best describes the rare hybrid of Barolo’s two distinct soil types - Tortonian and Helvetian - marrying their respective characteristics of perfume and elegance with struc- ture and concentration. The prestigious Cannubi vineyard lies where three communes of the appellation converge: Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, and La Morra. The Cannubi vineyard extends north and eastward, overlooking the commune of Barolo. The reputation of the vineyard has become legendary; with the label of the oldest remaining bottle of Piedmontese wine bear- ing the name Cannubi dated at 1752. The palate is elegant, full and relatively approachable when young, with unusual integra- tion of deep, supple berry notes over a substantial tannic structure of great aristocratic finesse and longevity. Ciavolich 2008 d’Abruzzo ‘Ancilla’ - 12/750ml List $152 Net $136 5+cs $120 In Abruzzo, ‘Ancilla’ the Latin word for girl, represents the young girls who served wine to the nobility of ancient Rome. Ancilla displays a deep, purple, red color and aromas and flavors of strawberry, cherry, blackberry and plums. Smooth in the mouth, the wine has youthful, gentle tannins and beautiful balance, while offering complexity, grip and structure on the palate.

Le Bertille 2007 Rosso di Montepulciano - 12/750ml List $160 Net $144 5+cs $120 A more youthful expression of their Vino Nobile and includes the addition of the traditional grape variety, Mammolo, which lends an intense fragrance of violets to the bouquet. A bright, ruby colored wine with intense aromas of fresh, red berries, dark cherry, plum and violets. Less intense and more fruit forward than its Vino Nobile brother, the wine is fresh, complex and harmonious on the palate. This is classic, elegant Montepulciano with integrated tannins, and a silky, persistent finish.

Produced from an ultra- soft of the white Muscat grape, this stylishly elegant wine blends the slightly “frizzante” sweetness of Moscato d’Asti with vibrant concentration and acidity. The bouquet expresses a stunning floral perfume followed by crisp, lush flavors of white peach, melon, and honey. La Bellanotte 2009 Armonico - 12/750ml List $152 Net $136 5+cs $120 An artisan winery that encompasses eight hectares of vineyards situated between the of the Isonzo valley and Collio hills in Italy’s north eastern corner near the border with Slovenia. Ezio Benassi, a Tuscan who fought in Friuli in World War II, returned and purchased the property now known as La Bellanotte. Armonico, harmonious in English, is a blend of Mal- vasia Istriana and Friuliana (fka Tocai). The all estate grown vineyards encompass the DOC sub zones of Collio and Isonzo. The soil is mainly calcareous with the presence of red gravel and a layer of ferrous stone. Armonico displays fresh, crisp, aromatics and flavors of citrus, apple, yellow peach, pineapple and almond with mineral notes, a vibrant, lively mouth feel and a crisp acidity.
