The first actress to imprint her hands outside the Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard will be remembered in a fabulous etching going on sale at The Tatton Park Antiques & Fine Art Fair at Tatton Park, Knutsford, Cheshire from 19th - 21st September 2014.

Norma Talmadge (1895-1957) was one of the greatest stars of the silent era. She began her film work as a teenager in 1910 at the on the East Coast and, after reaching fame, she moved to Hollywood in 1922 and established herself as one of the most elegant and glamorous film stars of the . A specialist in melodrama, her most famous film was Smilin’ Through (1922), but she also scored artistic triumphs in Secrets (1924) and The Lady (1925). Her younger sister was also a movie star. Talmadge married millionaire film producer Joseph Schenck and they Norma Talmadge successfully created their own production company. After her two talkies by Frank Martin proved disappointing at the box office, she retired a very wealthy woman. She is little remembered, yet in her day she was hugely popular and the epitome of stardom.

The limited edition etching by Frank Martin (1921-2005), showing her in a clasic Hollywood glamour pose, will be on sale from exhibitors Candice Horley & Steven Bishop with a ticket price of £895.

The Tatton Park Antiques Fair features with more than forty dealers from across the UK and a superb range of exhibits going on sale valued at more than one million pounds. Taking place in the spacious setting of Tatton Park’s Tenant’s Hall, the fair offers the opportunity to view and buy a vast range of treasures from the past three hundred years.

Regular exhibitors include furniture dealers Church Street Antiques from Altrincham with 19th and 20th century town furniture and upholstered items, Melody Antiques from Chester with farmhouse and country furniture, and Mark Buckley Antiques from Yorkshire with elegant Victorian and Edwardian mahogany and walnut furniture.

Also showing will be jewellery specialists Plaza from Cheshire, Brieve Antiques from Wales, Shapiro & Co. from London and Anderson Jones from Yorkshire. Fine art specialists include Balmain Antiques with original etchings and 20th century works of art, Jo Bennett Fine Paintings with Modern British and European paintings, John Newton with 19th and 20th century porcelain and M.& N.Rugs from Manchester with Persian and Oriental carpets.

The Tatton Park Antiques & Fine Art Fair has been running for more than forty years.
