The Farma Valley context

Farma Valley Facts

● 120 Km^2 – mostly woodland. ● Less than 500 residents (of which 90% in three villages) in 3 Km^2, and five plumbers ● Until 1974, one of the main transit points from to ● Hosts one of the two kaolin quarries in Italy ● Hosts three natural conservation areas ● Not far from very famous tourist attractors (Siena, Montalcino, Petriolo Springs), but in fact ignored by mainstream tourism ● About sixty residents are players of an ancient hand ball game ● The valley is in one of the three areas in Italy with the least light pollution ● Part of the movie “Tragica Notte” was shot in Torniella in 1942 ● Most of the people in Piloni have Bartalucci as a surname
