Activity 1. As a whole class, view the Ancient Egypt: Mummy ​ Burial Customs video. Students should take notes while ​ ​ viewing the video. 2. Engage students in a class discussion about burial customs. Include ways other countries in the world are similar to and different from the United States with regard to burial customs. 3. Using the video, resource books, online resources, and the Studies Weekly Search bar, each student will create a Triorama by Studies Weekly about Egyptian Mummy ​ Burial Customs. 4. On the three sides of the Triorama, students will write information and draw illustrations detailing what mummification is, the process of mummification, and the decorations used in mummification.

Differentiated Instruction Students can adjust their writing based on their ability. The students can glue four Trioramas back-to-back to allow the option

of creating a 3D presentation.

Extension Activity 1. Engage students in a class discussion about burial customs. Include ways other countries in the world are similar to and/or different from the United States in regard to burial customs. 2. Students will research the following questions: “How do burial customs of people in other nations differ today?” “How are burial customs around the world similar?” “Why are burial customs around the world different?” 3. Students select a few primary source photographs or video clips to use in an Animoto presentation. Students will share their Animoto presentations with the class. a.
