Saturday 31 Aug. 2019 – Perth to Venice (via Doha)

The group departs from Perth late evening on our Qatar Airways flight to Venice.

Sun. 1 Sept. to Wed. 4 Sept. – Venice

Upon arrival, the group is met and transferred from the airport to the hotel by coach and water taxi.

Wed. 4 Sept. – Venice to Porec

After breakfast, the group will transfer by boat from the hotel to Venice port to join the ferry to Porec.

Upon arrival in Porec, we will make our way to the hotel (short walk from the ferry terminal to the hotel).

Fri. 6 Sept. – and Piran

After breakfast the group will take a full day coach tour to the countryside. Enjoy morning tea in Motovun, a medieval walled village overlooking hillsides and vineyards. Then cross the border into to visit the seaside resort town of Piran, dating back to pre-Roman times. Piran is known as a culinary heaven and you’ll have time to find somewhere amazing to have lunch (not included). MOTOVUN We will return to the hotel late afternoon. The remainder of your day and evening is free for your own leisure.

Sat. 7 Sept. – embarkation “MS Stella Maris”

Your morning is free.

The group will meet in the hotel lobby for the transfer to the ship – time to be advised. Embarkation begins at 2.00 pm.

You will have a chance to settle into your cabin before attending a Welcome Reception followed by dinner this evening. (WD)

Sun. 8 Sept. – Porec – Rovinj – Brijuni National Park – Pula

You’ll sail along the Istrian Peninsula, then stop in the romantic town of Rovinj. Feel the village’s past times as you walk around the Old Town’s narrow cobbled streets, winding at the foot of the Church of St Euphemia, a favourite gathering place of artists from around the world. PULA

We continue sailing to the Brijuni National Park, once the personal State Summer Residence of President Marshal . Arriving at the island, you’ll think a part of heaven has opened in front of your eyes with a unique harmony of flora, fauna and heritage.

We’ll have lunch aboard while cruising towards Pula, arguably one of the most beautiful Istrian cities. On our Pula walking tour, our guide will share some exciting stories of antiquity as we walk the footsteps of the ancients and visit the Amphitheatre.

The remainder of your day is at leisure in lovely Pula. (B,L)

Mon. 9 Sept. – Mali Losinj –

We’ll have a morning visit of Mali Losinj, located on the island of the same name. Thanks to its mild , pinewoods and air, the island of Mali Losinj is an ideal place to replenish your body and spirit. MALI LOSINJ Lunch aboard while continuing our journey towards Zadar, with a swimming stop at one of the small islands along the way.

We’ll have dinner aboard while we set our compass south to Zadar. (B,L,D)

Tues. 10 Sept. – Zadar – Krka National Park – Primosten

After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a sightseeing tour of Zadar, a city of exceptional history and rich cultural heritage.

Zadar historical centre is a compact pedestrian zone, perfect to explore on foot. Set out on a walking tour and admire the old walls built in the 16th century by Venetians as a defence from the Turks. You will also see the 16th century Port Gate where the Venetian lion still guards the entrance, the Square of Five Wells, Church of St Donat, the Roman and the largest cathedral in Dalmatia, St Anastasia.

Return to the ship and enjoy lunch while sailing to Vodice.

Our next stop is Krka National Park with its magnificent waterfalls. After our visit here, we will coach to Primosten to meet our ship.

KRKA NATIONAL PARK

Wed. 11 Sept. – Split – Hvar

Welcome to Split! Start the day with a walking tour, featuring the historic inner city built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its and Gothic structures, ’s Temple and the Cathedral.

We return to the ship for lunch and cruise towards Hvar, Croatia’s sunniest island.

HVAR

Hvar is a favourite holiday destination for international celebrities and yachtsmen. Beyond all the glitz and glamour, Hvar town is a charming seaside resort with eight centuries of architecture waiting to be explored. On the walking tour, breathe in the pine-scented air as you absorb vistas of the Old Town with the picturesque little streets and the first public theatre in Europe.

For the rest of the day, keep this as your point of reference before exploring the labyrinth of backstreets, or pop into craft shops, cafes and restaurants, tucked into old Venetian palaces. (B,L)

(Please note: due to the limited capacity of the Hvar harbor during peak season, the port of call can be substituted for Stari Grad/Jelsa. In that case, bus transfers will be organised to/from Hvar.)

Thurs. 12 Sept. – Korcula – Mljet

This morning the clear waters of the Adriatic will bring us to our next destination: the magical island of Korcula and its fairy-tale like walled town, believed to be the birthplace of the explorer Marco Polo.

Enjoy breakfast onboard before heading off to discover the walled city with a local guide.

The walking tour takes you through Korcula’s narrow, cobbled streets and includes a visit to the majestic Gothic-Baroque Cathedral of St Mark, before returning to the boat for lunch. As we dine, we set sail for Mljet Island.

Mljet National Park features five types of forest, many species of birds, and two deep lakes, Big and Small Lake.

Tonight we dine with the Captain and enjoy live entertainment onboard our ship. (B,L,D)

MLJET NATIONAL PARK Fri. 13 Sept. – Dubrovnik

This morning we sail into beautiful Dubrovnik. After breakfast, we’ll take a walking tour of Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of the Adriatic” and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll visit the Rector’s Palace and Franciscan Monastery’s Pharmacy.

We return to the ship for lunch onboard, DUBROVNIK and then you have the rest of the day at leisure to discover this lovely city at your own pace.

Tonight we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, before returning to the ship. (B,L,D)

Sat. 14 Sept. – Dubrovnik to Tucepi

The group disembarks after breakfast and we travel by private coach to the seaside resort town, Tucepi, on the Dalmatian Coast.

Tonight we enjoy a group dinner and drinks (beer, house wines and soft drink) at a local seaside restaurant, hosted by Cathie and Len.

Cathie Rice Travel will assess the information contained in this form, and reserve the right to ask for a physical assessment for any passenger. In the event you have made a booking with Cathie Rice Travel and subsequently are unable or refuse to complete this form for any reason by the final payment date specified below, Cathie Rice Travel reserves the right to consider your booking cancelled as of that day and applicable cancellation fees will apply.

PROGRESS PAYMENTS

The airfares quoted in our package price are based on instant purchase fares. Flights will come into system range in early October and your airline reservations will be made at this time. Payment for your airfares will be due once reservations have been made and this cost will come off your final balance.

A second progress payment of $1000.00 per person is required by the cruise company on or before 15 September 18.

FINAL PAYMENT

Final payment date is 10 May 2019. It is imperative that deposits and final payments are paid by the due dates provided. Failure to pay on time may result in the cancellation of your reservations. Cancellation fees will apply once deposit paid.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS

As a result of recent changes to RBA rules and credit card interchange pricing, effective 27/11/17- the following new merchant charges apply:

LEVEL OF FITNESS

To get the most from your Cathie Rice Travel tour you will need a reasonable level of fitness and mobility and an open mind. Many of the best sights can only be accessed on foot. You should be able to walk 2 km on uneven ground without the aid of another person, climb several flights of stairs, and carry your own bags at a minimum.

Travellers with a pre-existing medical condition are required to complete a short medical questionnaire, which must be signed by their physician. This is to ensure that travellers have the necessary fitness and mobility to comfortably complete their chosen trip.

While our staff work hard to ensure that all our travellers are catered for equally, it is not their responsibility to help individuals who cannot complete the day's activities unaided. Travellers who need such assistance must be accompanied by a qualified companion.

Cathie Rice Travel reserves the right to refuse to carry any person who it deems cannot fully care for themselves on Tour without assistance.

FARES AND PRICES

° Group costs quoted for this tour are subject to a minimum number of 22 paying passengers travelling together to ensure a Cathie Rice Travel Tour Escort is travelling with the group. Cathie Rice Travel reserves the right to re-cost should minimum numbers not be met.

Due to the current instability of oil prices, all of the companies involved reserve the right to increase their costs relevant to fuel prices. All prices subject to increase until paid in full. Tour prices specified are based on airfares and land arrangement tariffs applicable at the time of printing and do not include airline taxes, airport/port charges or gratuities unless indicated. Prices are based on currency exchange rates therefore may be subject to increase without prior notice until the final payment date. All prices are in Australian dollars.

Please note: As this holiday package may incorporate many different facets such as flights, hotels, transfers, tours and/or a cruise, the payments you make will be forwarded to the individual companies involved to secure your reservations. Individual payments are not able to be made to these companies, therefore prices are subject to change as per the clause above, until the final payment date.

Travel insurance is not included in your tour cost. Please refer to the “travel insurance” section for more information.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

In the event of cancellation by the passenger, the following fees will apply:

Deposit - non refundable

After final payment date – any charges imposed by the principals involved in operating the tour. If cancelled less than 90 days prior to departure, up to 100% of tour fare can be charged as a cancellation fee. Travel insurance is required for this holiday – see note below. Bookings and payments are non-transferable to another passenger’s booking.

There is no refund for any sightseeing tours, meals, accommodation, or any other services not utilised or required during this tour. There is no refund available for the deposit or other payments if travel insurance cannot be obtained.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel insurance is mandatory for this holiday and recommended to be purchased at time of booking. Travel insurance may be subject to age and pre-existing medical condition surcharges. It is important to consider the purchase of travel insurance as early as possible as cancellation penalties will be enforced by the cruise/tour companies, hotels, airlines etc. Cancellation fees will not be waived if insurance cannot be obtained. Medicare will not pay for services or hospitalization outside Australia. Medical disembarkations do occur on cruises and passengers (or their families) are held personally liable for medical and associated costs incurred onboard ship or overseas.

For guests who do not take travel insurance through Cathie Rice Travel, please note: We have a long standing relationship with our sales representatives at SureSave and AussieTravel, and they are able to assist us should a policy holder require medical help or other emergency assistance while on tour. Due to the privacy act, our tour escorts are unable to assist with medical or loss claims and discuss any issues with any other insurer while on tour. Persons who take insurance through any other provider must ensure they have copies of their insurance PDS, policy and emergency assistance contacts with them while on tour.

PASSPORTS AND VISAS

All passengers must be in the possession of a passport that is valid for at least six months after your return date to Australia. Passengers not travelling on an Australian passport must have a valid re-entry visa for Australia.

ITINERARY ALTERATIONS

Alterations to the accommodation or travel itinerary may occur due to road or weather conditions, strikes or other reasons beyond our control. Any additional expense incurred by the passenger is not the responsibility of Cathie Rice Travel.

We can give no guarantee as to the exact arrival and departure times for airlines, other carriers and operators used in the tour and Cathie Rice Travel will not be liable for failure to make connections with any other services or attractions beyond its control.
