EMBARKATION TIME Embarkation is at 5pm.

YACHT BRIEFING The technical check in and yacht briefing will take 40-60 minutes, depending on yacht size and crew experience. The team will give a detailed walk-through of your yacht’s technical equipment, information about safe and accurate navigation, including the yacht’s navigational instruments, as well as mooring, anchorage and itinerary help. The safety briefing introduces the safety equipment and your yacht’s general inventory.

STOP OVERS You must spend the last night in the marina and arrive before 6pm.

DISEMBARKATION TIME Disembarkation time is 9am on Saturday morning. The team will inspect your yacht’s equipment and a general visual check of its interior and exterior. A diver will check its hull, keel, rudder(s) propeller(s) and /or bow thruster. General inspection will take approximately one hour.

CAR PARKING Secure parking is provided on site, reservation is advisable. For details please contact our base manager. Rate: 1.6 € / hour, 13.5 € / day, 60 € / week, payable at the reception of the marina.

BAGGAGE Please only take soft bags and not suitcases, as they would be too cumbersome onboard.

HOW TO GET THERE?

ACCESS BY PLANE (PUY): The airport is 12km from the base, which is a 10-minute journey by car/shuttle. There are regular flights from all major European airports with many major airline carriers, including easyJet, Jet2, , , and Aer Lingus. Please check the schedule on the airport website.

TRANSFERS FROM THE AIRPORT TO OUR BASE If you need an organized transfer from the airport, please contact our base manager. Major car rental companies operate from the airport, please refer to the airport website for info, working hours and contacts. Taxis are regularly available in front of the airport buildings.

ACCESS BY ROAD Take highway /E751 and follow the directions to Pula. At the end of the highway take the county road 5119 and follow directions to and Pomer. Go straight over four roundabouts and then follow the signage for ACI Marina Pomer.

ACCESS BY BOAT OR CATAMARAN Pula Ferry port is located in Pula city center, right next to (15 minutes by car from the base). During the season there are three regular routes to Pula: • From and Mali Lošinj www..hr

ACCESS BY BUS Pula Bus station is located in Pula city center. There are frequent daily regular bus services to and with connections to all major Croatian cities. There are also regular regional services to , , , Belgrade and other destinations. Local bus line No. 28 connects Pula bus station and Pomer and the journey takes about 20 minutes.

LOCAL AREA INTRODUCTION Pula is an ancient coastal town on the gorgeous Istrian Peninsula Croatia and may be one of the best charter destinations in the Adriatic. You can explore 3,000 year-old coastal villages while sailing through the crystal clear water of the Adriatic.

TOP THINGS TO DO IN PULA:

1. Swim with dolphins at Maračol Bay: Maračol Bay on the south side of (Losinj Island) is famous for its dolphins and it’s a great place to swim and snorkel.

2. Climb the Toreta Tower and enjoy the view of the northern Dalmatians: Sail to the island of , the northernmost Dalmatian island and climb the spiral stairway of the Toreta Tower. You’ll love the view of the entire island and the surrounding area. 3. INTERNET The Wi-Fi in Pula is good and most cities and towns have Wi-Fi hotspots at bars and restaurants. ACI Marina Pula has free Wi-Fi and you can also rent Wi-Fi for your charter.

ENVIRONMENT • Respect your surroundings and leave only footprints in the sand • Only use the engine or genset when needed (fill up your tanks at the docks when you can) • Recycle your garbage in the correct containers at the marina. • Respect regulations around marine reserves and private islands where disembarking is not permitted

SAILING AREA From our Pula base at the ACI Marina Pomer, you can sail to historic harbors, anchor off uninhabited islands and immerse yourself in the history and culture in the narrow streets of the region.

On an Adriatic yacht charter with Dream Yacht Charter in Pula, you can experience the pristine islands that are as green and fertile as Tuscany while also exploring towns bursting with the brick and red roof architecture the region is known for.

WEATHER

The best time to embark on an Adriatic yacht charter with DYC in Pula is between May and October when the days are hot, sunny and dry.

The average temperature in Pula in summer is between 78ºF and 95ºF; with the sea temperature in Pula between 75°F and 82°F in summer.

TEMPERATURE in Pula, Croatia: • Summer high: The July high is around 84°F • Winter low: The January low is 37°F WIND SYSTEMS The sailing conditions for yacht charters in Pula are excellent in the summer when there is often good wind and sunny weather.

Pula wind systems include the daily northwesterly , which regularly creates breezes that reach between 10 and 25 knots.

However the northeasterly bura () can also appear and needs more experience. If the bura is forecast, it’s recommended to find a sheltered anchorage as the gusts can range between 30 and 50 knots.

Keep in mind that the southerly jugo can bring poor weather conditions, including and wind up to 25 knots.
