Notes u Afghan is worked in entrelac. Each “tier” of fabric moves in the direction opposite to the ones below and above (see diagram). Tiers alternate between plain (stockinette) and cabled (see chart) blocks. New blocks are added as the blanket grows diagonally from first block, then taken away as the blanket approaches the opposite corner. Circular needles are recommended due to the large number of stitches that will be on the needles while working diagonally across the afghan.
