SKILL LEVEL - Easy Yarn Suggestions SIZE One size: approximately 9” wide x 29” long This pattern is designed for use with “Super Bulky” weight yarn. SUPPLIES On back of yarn label, next  120 - 130 yards Super Bulky weight yarn to & care info, look  US Size 13 knitting needles (or size to obtain gauge) for the “6” yarn symbol.

 Large button - approximately 1.5” diameter Solid color yarn is suggested to show  needle pattern texture.

GAUGE* Stockinette with size 13 needles: 10 sts & 13 rows = 4”

*Gauge does not have to be exact. However, knitting will look best with fairly tight stitches.

DIRECTIONS With US size 13 needles cast on 21 sts. Work as follows: ABBREVIATIONS

Row 1: *P3, K3; repeat from *, end P3 K knit K2tog knit 2 together Row 2: same as Row 1 P purl

The pattern is made up of these 2 rows. Repeat rows 1 & 2 st stitch until knitting is approximately 27” long, or about 2” less than sts stitches yo desired length.

Work button hole rows as follows:

Then, return to working rows 1 & 2 in established P3, K3 [email protected] pattern until work measures approximately 29” long.

Bind off loosely, maintaining P3, K3 pattern.

Cut yarn leaving an 8” tail. With a tapestry needle, carefully weave in ends on back of knitting.

Position button on right side of knitting, centered on a row approximately 2.5” from cast on edge of knitting.

Stitch button to knitting using tapestry needle and 12” piece of yarn.

NOTE: It may take 10-20 rows of knitting for the subtle vertical “stripe” effect to show up in your knitting.

BUTTON PLACEMENT Centered on row, approximately 2.5” from cast off edge of knitting...or as desired.
