ELISSAVET CHATZIANTONIOU

I was born and raised in Thessalonike. In 1999 I graduated from the Department of History and Archaeology, School of Philosophy, Aristotle University of Thessalonike (AUTH) with specialization in History. In 2002 I earned the Master’s Degree (M.Phil.) and in 2002 the Doctoral Degree (D. Phil.) from the same Department, specializing in Byzantine History. Since December 2009 I am a Lecturer of Byzantine History in the Sector of Ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Medieval History, Department of History and Archaeology, School of Philosophy, AUTH.

Research programs - Participant in the research program “Dictionary of Byzantine Terminology. Fiscal terms” run in Department of History of the Centre of Byzantine Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessalonike [scope of employment during 2.6-3.11.2003, 1.1-3.9.2004 (under the direction of Prof. Alk. Stavridou-Zafraka): search for relevant bibliography, indexing of sources and studies; during 13.3-17.10.2007 (under the direction of Prof. Th. Korres): indexing and analysis of sources and studies; writing entries]. - Contributor in the research project run by the Research Committee of the AUTH entitled «Slavic raids and settlements in northern Greece from the 6th to the 8th centuries», directed by Prof. Th. Korres. Scope of scientific research: Collecting and analyzing source material, searching, indexing and analysis of relevant bibliography, preparation of a study entitled: The policy of Byzantium towards Slav settlers (7th-9th c.), participation in drafting the final report of the research project.
