Western Pines Dress Code for 2019-2020 School Year All clothing must be size appropriate; neither too short, tight, loose, or revealing of undergarments or skin. Clothing is not to be worn inside out unless directed to do so by administration. Shirts - Polo style or button down dress shirts with collars and sleeves are required - Solid, single color- no plaid, stripes, patterns or images - Official Western Pines school clothing/logos are permissible - T-shirt must have Western Pines logo or have been issued by the school

Pants - Solid, single color- no plaid, stripes, patterns, words or images (Jeans are allowed) - Must be worn at the waist with a belt if needed (no sagging below the waist) - NO holes, frays, or slashes that expose bae skin - Solid-Single color shorts are allowed. Shorts must extend to the knee - Leggings may only be worn under dress code appropriate shorts/skirts - Sweatpants are prohibited Dresses - Solid, single color no patterns or images with Collar-Knee Length Skirts - Solid, single color no patterns or images-Knee Length

Shoes - All shoes must have a closed heel and toe - NO sandals, slippers, flip-flops, or crocs

Jackets/ - Jackets and sweatshirts must be Solid, single color-no images, print or patterns Sweatshirts - NO Writing/Logos are permitted unless it is a Western Pines logo - A dress code appropriate shirt must be worn under the jacket/sweatshirt

Prohibited - Headwear (caps, bandanas) except for documented medical or religious reasons Items - Solid, single color headbands are acceptable - Heavy or excessive jewelry (chains, dog collars, unsafe, weapon related accessories) - Any jewelry deemed potentially disruptive, gang related or dangerous by administration - Items worn around the neck, with the exception of the student ID lanyard, must be worn under the shirt - Mouth pieces or grills - Animal ears & tail - Writing on the body or clothing - Blankets - Balloons or stuffed animals - Sweat material shorts Note: Clothes provided to students as a result of Dress Code violation must be returned by the end of day

Administration reserves the right to make final decisions on any dress code issues that are not listed above Repeated violations will be subject to the district’s code of conduct PARENTS: When buying school clothes, please adhere to the above dress code. Your assistance in implementing this policy will ensure its success. EXCEPTIONS: Any student requiring temporary exemption from the dress code for medical reasons must first present a doctor’s note to the assistant principal for approval. No other exceptions will be permitted.
