Business Professional Dress Code The way you dress can play a big role in your professional career. Part of the culture of a company is the dress code of its employees. Some companies prefer a business casual approach, while other companies require a business professional dress code. BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE FOR MEN Men should wear business suits if possible; however, blazers can be worn with dress slacks or nice khaki pants. Wearing a tie is a requirement for men in a business professional dress code. Sweaters worn with a shirt and tie are an option as well. BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE FOR WOMEN Women should wear business suits or skirt-and-blouse combinations. Women adhering to the business professional dress code can wear slacks, shirts and other formal combinations. Women dressing for a business professional dress code should try to be conservative. Revealing clothing should be avoided, and body art should be covered. Jewelry should be conservative and tasteful. COLORS AND FOOTWEAR When choosing color schemes for your business professional wardrobe, it's advisable to stay conservative. Wear "power" colors such as black, navy, dark gray and earth tones. Avoid bright colors that attract attention. Men should wear dark‐colored dress shoes. Women can wear heels or flats. Women should avoid open‐toe shoes and strapless shoes that expose the heel of the foot. GOOD HYGIENE Always practice good hygiene. Casual Dress Guidelines
BUSINESS CASUAL AND GANNON CASUAL DRESS GUIDELINES Introduction: Gannon encourages administrators and staff to present a professional appearance and image at all times. Common sense, good taste, good judgment and professionalism should be reflected in the personal appearance of all employees. It is understood that one standard cannot be applied to each work environment. Some positions involve functions that are best performed in standard business attire while others are best performed in attire better suited to physical activity. In certain areas, management may determine that the nature of the work requires wearing jeans or other work clothes. Department directors should be able to answer questions that may arise. Guidelines: Business Casual attire is a slightly more relaxed standard than traditional business attire. Business Casual attire is acceptable to wear on Fridays or the last scheduled workday of any workweek throughout the year and everyday during the summer months (dates will be designated annually). Employees should take their day’s schedule into consideration when determining if traditional business attire or business casual would be more appropriate. Tokay High School Policies Cell Phones & Personal Electronics Policy State law permits students to carry cell phones on school campuses. This law also gives school districts and school sites the flexibility to determine their school’s usage policy. The policy below clarifies Tokay High School’s cell phone and personal electronics (disc players, CD players, iPods, cameras, etc.) usage policy and consequences. Use of Cell Phones and/or Personal Electronics Cell phones and personal electronics may only be used by students before 7:20, after 2:10 pm and during lunch. If a staff member sees or hears a phone or other device during class time or during passing period it will be confiscated and turned into the Student Services Office. In addition, the follow consequence applies: 1st Offense Device will be returned to the student at the end of the day or the following day (depending on when the device was confiscated). 2nd Offense Device will be returned to only a parent at the end of the school day or next day. 3rd Offense Lunch detention. 4th Offense After School detention. 5th Offense Other Interventions. Hat Policy Hats, beanies, do-rags, scarves, bandanas, hoods and any other form of headwear are not to be worn inside buildings or classrooms at Tokay High. STAN STATE SWIM ATTIRE Code PROPER BATHING ATTIRE MUST BE WORN IN THE POOL. IT MUST BE: 1. Designed for swimming 2. Made of Lycra, spandex, nylon, or neoprene 3. Lined Pool patrons often ask, "Why do I have to wear proper swimwear?" HERE ARE JUST A FEW REASONS AS TO WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO ONLY WEAR POOL ATTIRE IN THE POOL. 1. Street clothes (especially cotton) can transport airborne and ultimately water borne contaminants into the pool. 2. Swimwear worn for exercising prior to using the pool is unsanitary. Soiled clothing can create an unhealthy swimming environment. 3. Lycra and Nylon are the best non-absorbent material for swimming and are the best fabrics for proper swim attire. Other absorbent materials (such as cotton) can break down in the water and cause fibers to clog filters. Any “colored” material (unless specifically made for swimming) can bleed into the pool, affecting water chemistry and balance. Cotton and similar materials can absorb the chemicals in the water, causing the water to become less effective at maintaining the proper chemical balance or may cloud the water. Please use the pictures below as a guideline. Volume 13: Issue 2 Belt Grinders and Everyday Work By Doug Workman, APF, CJF A belt grinder is one tool that I, and most of the farriers I know who use them, will not live without. When you consider the tasks that you can perform with a grinder, only your hammer, anvil and forge are more important. My goal is to give you ideas for what you can do with a belt grinder in your everyday work if you are unfamiliar with them; or maybe give you a new idea you can use with your own. I use expander wheels everyday so I will start by covering their use and safety. Most of this information can be applied with any style belt grinder you may use. The expander wheels come in two sizes - 10" and 6" models. The 10" wheel turns the fastest and is the most aggressive at removing material. The 6" wheel gives a smaller radius that is great for dressing tools or precise grinding. First, expander wheels must turn in the proper direction or the belt will not stay on. They come with an indication arrow showing the proper direction of rotation they must turn. Secondly, you must have the safety guard on and in the proper position (refer to photo).
