Enabling WebEx in your browser

If you’re experiencing problems accessing WebEx then the following instructions should help you get started. For further support please contact Cisco WebEx’s technical support team call (toll-free): 0800 389 9772 – select option 3 then option 1.

To trust the WebEx Plug-in for :

1. Choose Safari > Preferences > Security > Manage Website Settings. 2. From the left panel, choose 'WebEx64 General Plug-in Container'. 3. In the When visiting other websites pop-up menu, choose Always Allow 4. Click Done. 5. Quit and restart Safari. 6. Try to join or start your meeting again.

Optional: Trust the WebEx64 General Plug-in on a per site basis

For each domain or website on which the 'Blocked Plug-in' message appears:

1. Click the 'Blocked' message. 2. When the Trust dialog appears, choose Trust.

How Do I Enable the WebEx Plug-in to Join a Meeting Using Chrome or ?

Users will need to manually enable plug-ins within these browsers to successfully join WebEx meetings once these changes have taken place. The WebEx meeting will not successfully launch (users will stay on the “Join Meeting” page) until the plug-in has been enabled.

Cisco have plans to enable users to join WebEx meetings without a plug-in in a future release. As a workaround until the new WebEx version is released, you may enable the plug-in manually. Firefox and Chrome will automatically upgrade to the NEW browser versions when they are made available by Mozilla and Google.

Once the user’s browser has been updated:

 Users must enable the WebEx plug-in separately for each affected browser.  Users must enable the WebEx plug-in separately for each WebEx website. Follow these steps to enable the WebEx plug-in:

Google Chrome (Windows, Mac)

1. Click the Join link that appears in your invitation or instant message, or select Join in your meeting list or the meeting space on your WebEx site. 2. If you have not already installed the Cisco WebEx meeting application software, install it now. 3. If the WebEx software is installed, you will see the Join meeting page. Select Always run on this site, and your meeting will start. See the image below:

Firefox (Windows, Mac, and Linux)

1. Select the Join link that appears in your email invitation or instant message, or select Join in your meeting list or the meeting space on your WebEx site. 2. If you have not already installed the Cisco WebEx meeting application software, install it now. 3. If the WebEx software is installed, you will see the Join meeting page with a tiny icon near the that will allow you to enable the WebEx plug-in. See the images below for instructions on how to enable it.
