Day 2: Mon, June 22, 2020 (B/L/D) overnight in Chernihiv Breakfast at the hotel Meeting with representative of Association of Beef Breeders of Ukraine to talk about beef cattle farming in Ukraine

Depart for Chernihiv

Visit to family-owned farm: land bank – 1500 ha; cattle farming – 300 headcount, including 170 dairy cows, Aberdeen-Angus cattle and sheep herd; own forages – corn and sorghum for silage and alfalfa for haylage

Day 3: Tue, June 23, 2020 (B/L/D) overnight in Chernihiv Breakfast at the hotel Depart for farm visit Visit to beef farms of Ukrainian agro-holding (the largest beef breeders and producers): total land bank – 39,000 ha; total beef headcount – 6,000; breeds - Aberdeen Angus, Limousin, Charolais, Simmental, Poliska, Southern and Znamenska Ukrainian breeds. Visit their breeding center and feedlots, pastures

Visit to beef farm & pasture: beef headcount – 1,700 of exclusively Ukrainian beef breeds; cattle are on grazing – 1100 ha of pasture (partly irrigated) Return transfer to Chernihiv Arrival in the hotel. Day 4: Wed, June 24, 2020 (B/L/D) overnight in Sumy Breakfast at the hotel Check-out & Departure for Sumy region Visit on the way historic town Baturyn well known from the 17 century as the capital of the . Visit National Historical Cultural Reserve “’s Capital” place of the interesting monuments of history, architecture, culture, archeology and nature

Visit to dairy farm: total land bank – 14,000 ha; crop farming: corn, sunflower, soybeans; grain

elevator with storing capacity of 85,000 tons; cattle farming: dairy cattle – 4,000 cows on 2 sites;

Arrival in Sumy Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant Chernihiv – Baturyn (~155 km), Baturyn – Farm visit (~70 km), Farm visits – Sumy (~115 km)

Day 5: Thu, June 25, 2020 (B/L/D) overnight in Poltava Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out Visit to ag machinery factory: leading Ukrainian manufacturer of tractor trailers, carts, and wagons, chaser bins, etc.

Lunch on the way Depart for Poltava Stop in Opishnya village that gives you an insight into the Ukrainian traditional crafts and popular art: embroidery, ceramics, carpet-making, artistic carving and “” making (painting of Easter eggs). Arrival in Poltava. Check-in at the hotel Dinner at the restaurant Day 6: Fri, June 26, 2020 (B/L/D) overnight in Poltava Breakfast at the hotel Departure for farm visits Visit to farm involved in organic cattle and crop farming: land bank - 8.5 thousand ha of organic certificated land; tillage: no-till; crops - wheat, barley, sunflower, corn, oats; total cattle herd – 6200, including 1880 milking cows; beef cattle (Aberdeen Angus) – 1000; average milk yield – 8000 kg per cow.

Lunch on the way Visit to dairy farm, subsidiary of huge dairy complex: total cattle herd – 980, including 745 milking cows; breeds – Ukrainian Black and White, Holstein; average milk yield – 30.5 l per cow; own heifer complex to breed young stock. Visit to feed center supplying 12 farms of dairy complex with feed: production capacities – 300 tons per day; different rations produced for milking cows, drying-off cows and calves.

Transfer back to Poltava Dinner at the restaurant Poltava – Farm visit #1 (~80 km), Farm visit #1 – Farm visit #2 (~70 km), Farm visit #1 – Poltava (~115 km)

Day 7: Sat, June 27, 2020 (B/L/D) overnight in Kyiv Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out City Tour of Poltava – famous for its cultural and historical heritage. Poltava Battle (between Sweden and ), a crucial event in the world history, took place here in 1709. It preserves authentic landscapes of the 18th century, original remnants of the defensive redoubts as well as memorable monuments and sights of the period. Visit to Poltava Long-Rage Aviation Museum – located on the territory of the former airbase that was functioning in the period of the World War II and later, in the period of the Cold War. Day 8: Sun, June 28, 2020 (B/L/D) overnight in Kyiv Breakfast at the hotel Visit to Mamaeva Sloboda. You can see and feel how Ukrainian lived at the Mamaeva Sloboda open-air museum. All the objects at the skansen reconstruct the life of the real 17-18th century Cossack settlement. Take part in traditional handicrafts: blacksmithing, candle-making, making a traditional reeled doll or dumplings (varenyky)

Traditional lunch on the territory Kyiv Pechersk Lavra Tour. It is a historic Orthodox Christian monastery situated atop the right bank of the mighty River. The monastery was founded in 1051, today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The complex includes 20 hectares of territory with 16 churches, two underground cave systems that contain the remains of Orthodox saints, a central cathedral, seminary and 96.5 meter tall bell tower. Dnipro riverboat trip to observe the main sights of Kyiv and fascinating panoramic view Dinner on the board Day 9: Mon, June 29, 2020 (B/L/D) overnight in Uman Breakfast at the hotel Check-out. milking herd – 994 cows; breed – Ukrainian black-and-white and Holstein; daily milk yield per milking cow - 30 kg Transfer to the hotel. This is the umbrella association that unites: • Association of Milk Producers: total herd – 135 thousands, total number of cows – 56 thousands, land bank – 1.3 million ha, 140 members; • Association of Pig Breeders: total number of sows – 95 thousands; total land bank – 500 thousands ha, 30 members; • National Association of Sugar Producers: land bank – 2 million ha, 22 members; • First Ukrainian Agricultural Cooperative: land bank – 190 thousand ha, 66 members. Check-in at the hotel Dinner at the restaurant Uman – Odesa (~270 km) Day 11: Wed, July 1, 2020 (B/L/D) overnight in Odesa Breakfast at the restaurant Visit to Odesa Grain Terminal. It renders services in grain receiving, storing and ship loading for both export and import. Total service grain capacity - 97500 tons including elevator – 67500 and storing – 30000 tons. Main storing crops - wheat, maize, barley, rape sunflower Visit to Odesa Commercial Port. The largest port in the Black Sea-Azov region: 52 protected berths with a total quay length over 9000 m make it possible to accommodate 300 m long vessels with cargo carrying capacity up to 100 thousand tons (general tour around port territory)

Day 12: Thu, July 2, 2020 (B/L/D) overnight in Odesa Breakfast at the hotel Departure for farm visits Visit to dairy farm & chees-making: land bank – 250 ha, total cattle herd – 1018; milking herd – 580 cows; breed – holstein, ukrainian black-and-white; annual average milk yield – 8400 kg per cow; housing system – free stall, open lot for milking herd; cheese-making factory: total milk processing capacity – 50 tons, current processing capacity – 35 tons

Visit to Shabo winery & vineyards. It produces Shabo-branded noble beverages at own production

facilities located in the immediate proximity of vineyards. You visit the wine culture center,

processing facilities, vineyards and tasting room, including wine degustation
