An ancient town Trypillya is eager to tell you a fascinating story about the unique Trypillian culture and ancient settlements. It is you who is invited by palace and park complexes to stroll at their trees shadow and admire the exuberant buildings. Chernihiv wants you to walk along its old part with the impressive churches and caves. The towns with well-known monuments of the Cossacks epoch can’t wait to let you know more about this unforgettable page of Ukrainian history. You are so welcome guest here in Ukraine and you should really take a chance to see our treasures prepared right for you! Day 1 Meeting at the airport in Kyiv. Transfer to a hotel. Accommodation at the hotel. Welcome dinner. Meeting with a guide and a short presentation of a tour. Day 2, Kyiv Breakfast. Kyiv - a 3-hour bus tour around the historical districts of Kyiv: Golden Gate (the unique monument which reflects the art of fortification of Kievan Rus), a majestic St. Sophia’s Cathedral, St. Volodymyr’s and St. Michael’s Golden Domed Cathedrals, an exuberant St. Andrew’s Church. A walk along Andriyivsky Uzviz (Andrew’s Descent) – Kyiv’s “Monmartre” - where the peculiar Ukrainian souvenirs may be bought. Lunch (optionally). Excursion to the museum-reserve and monastery Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (an ancient Kyiv Cave Monastery). A walk along the historical district of Lypky: the House of Parliament, Mariyinsky palace (an official residence of the President of Ukraine for ceremonial purposes) and Mariyinsky park, the marvellous panoramic views over the Dnipro river; Khreshchatyk street (the main street of a city with its splendid architecture) and Maydan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square). Dinner. Visiting theatres (the Opera House, the philharmonic), clubs and discos optionally. Day 3, Kyiv – Trypillya – Kyiv (100 km) Breakfast. Leaving for the excursion. Trypillya – an old town, well-known by scientists all over the world; the place of the settlements of the unique Trypillian culture, existing of which dates back to the period of the Egyptian pyramids; visiting museums with a rich collection devoted to this culture. Returning to Kyiv. Dinner. Day 4, Kyiv – Kachanivka – Nizhyn – Chernihiv (370 km) Breakfast. Kachanivka – a national historic-cultural reserve - the Tarnowski palace and park complex of the 18-19thcenturies, the beautiful architectural and natural ensemble and the only Ukrainian homestead preserved as a complex. Nizhyn – Pokrova Church, St. Michael’s Church of the Greek Community, the so-called Cossack Cathedral of St. Nicholas, a rare survival from the days of Nizhyn's Cossack glory, the Neoclassical complex of the famous Nizhyn Lyceum, the monument to Mykola Gogol. Arrival to Chernihiv. Accommodation at a hotel. Dinner. Day 5, Chernihiv – Novhorod-Siversky (190 km) Breakfast. Chernihiv – the historical places of the old part of a city – Boryso-Hlibsky Cathedral with the stunning silver Royal Doors, the Transfiguration Cathedral with its two distinctive bell towers, the Regimental chancellery, the burial-mounds on the Boldyn hill, Troyitsky and Illinsky Trinity Monasteries, the impressive Antoniy caves with 315 m of passageways, galleries and chapels. Novhorod-Siversky – the museum-reserve “A word about Igor’s regiment” (“Slovo o polku Igorevim”) dedicated to one of the most outstanding writings of the Old Rus, the Transfiguration Monastery and Cathedral, the Assumption Cathedral, the Triumphal Arch. Accommodation at a hotel. Dinner. Day 6, Novhorod-Siversky – Hlukhiv – Baturyn – Kyiv (400 km) Breakfast. Hlukhiv – an ancient town of a great history and courage – St. Nickolas Church (the main building on the Radna Square where Ukrainian Hetmans were designated, the historical and architectural monument of the national importance), the Saviour Transfiguration Cathedral and the 18th-century Kyiv Gates of the city fortress, the architectural ensemble of Kyiv-Moskovska Street, the Church of Ascension. Baturyn – a town that played an extremely important role in the history of Ukraine, the archaeological monument of the Cossacks epoch (the historic-cultural reserve “Hetman’s capital” with the Palace of Rozumovsky, the building of a General Court, the Church of Resurrection, Mykolo-Krupyc’ky Monastery).
