Graphic Designer/Web Coordinator Full Time/12 Months Supervisor: Director of Advancement Start Date: Immediately Job Description: The Graphic Designer/Web Coordinator will play a key role in Catherine Cook Marketing with responsibility over the school-wide graphic design of collateral and publications, as well as the website design refresh and content management. The Graphic Design/Web Coordinator will also support marketing activities such as email and direct mail campaigns, advertising, and special events. The ideal candidate will have experience with both print and web design. Knowledge of basic web development and photography skills are a plus.
Knowledge Skills, Experience, Personal Attributes and Abilities Required:
• Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Graphic Design • Minimum of two years of experience • An understanding of branding, marketing, and consumer behavior and the ability to apply that knowledge to design • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite • Familiarity with CMS and website creation software experience • Illustration skills • SEO knowledge • Demonstrated accuracy with details and commitment to high standards of quality • Self-motivated and team-oriented individual with the ability to drive results • Must be able to establish and develop strong relationships with departmental and organizational leaders and champion a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and improvement while upholding the values of the organization • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while producing quality work • Effective written and oral communication skills • Ability to maintain confidential information • Photography skills • Customer service oriented; anticipating and exceeding the needs of our families • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills • Strong self-motivation and the ability to work as a team member • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation, and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution • Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the school • Must be able to work occasional evenings or weekends to assist in the coverage of non-school day Catherine Cook community events
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Designs and produces collateral material (internal and external), ensuring all graphic design work meets branding guidelines. Collateral may include brochures, data sheets, posters, presentation material, multimedia, illustration, logo design, exhibit material, print ads, banner ads, and packaging • Identifies and designs appropriate icons, images, and other graphic elements to be included in various marketing materials • Works with the team on ad campaign development and execution, collateral design, event material, etc. • Handles the day-to-day design maintenance and operation of the Catherine Cook website, including incorporating new technologies and ongoing design enhancements and working with external website provider (Finalsite) • Creates appropriate imagery for social media and web updates • Captures photographs of the Catherine Cook community and organizes the photo archive • Manages school yearbook • Effectively manages, warehouses, and catalogs all website content assets • Supports the web components of ongoing marketing campaigns, landing pages, forms, auto responses, and subscriptions • Builds and maintains relationships with outside vendors and manages sourcing for marketing • Creates PowerPoint/Keynote presentation materials • Supports the Parent Association in planning and executing events including invitations, nametags, web-based RSVPs, etc.
