Essential Functions The most critical work to be done in the job. 1. Provides consultation, planning, design and production of visual communications. • Sets priorities for the production of graphic publications and other materials. • Provides project management and executes the visual production of major City publications, exhibits, , merchandise and other items. • Manages the use of and the production and placement of City displays. • Maintains technical knowledge and keeps informed of the latest concepts, practices and technology.

2. Produces , and other print and digital content that tells the story of the City. • Creates engaging content that differentiates and amplifies the City’s brand. • Plans and illustrates concepts, and copy, obtains approval and prepares final concept. • Develops and maintains visual brand standards in all projects. • Organizes and maintains digital and hard copy resource files of graphic, photo and print materials.

3. Coordinates delivery of graphic services. • Collaborates with City staff to develop department specific communications. • Coordinates and reviews requests to assure branding and production quality standards are met. • Analyzes and updates project procedures as needed. • Ensures that graphic projects are proofread for spelling and typographical errors.

4. Collaborates with partners whose products and services meet City standards of excellence. • Directs the work of printers, photo processing labs, consultants and other service providers. • Manages and solicits formal requests for proposals, services and other agreements from vendors.

1 • Identifies and recommends graphic supplies, , fonts, software and equipment services. • Ensures effective care and operation of graphics equipment and recommends new equipment.

Education and Experience The knowledge, skill, and ability to do the essential functions of the job. Associate’s degree or higher in graphic design, animation or related field, with two or more years of experience in graphic design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Local government experience preferred.

Physical Demands Factors affecting how essential functions are successfully performed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear and use hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to use stand, walk, and kneel in performing daily office work.

Work Environment What is encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment that includes exposure to computer and office technology. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate.
