St Chad’s Church in Wales Voluntary Aided School accepts pupils between the ages of 3 and 11 years of age.

As a Church in Wales Voluntary Aided School, the Governing Body of the school is responsible for the admission of pupils. Applications can be made on-line at www.wrexham.gov.uk following the link to school admissions. Paper application forms can be obtained from Contact Wrexham,

SPORTS

At KS2, all pupils are taught a range of skills relating to the revised curriculum orders. Professionals/ coaches are periodically invited in to teach the pupils either in the school day or during after school activities. Milk for the Foundation Phase children is provided free of charge. As a school, we aim to encourage healthy eating throughout the school day and we provide at a cost of 20p daily a substantial healthy snack in all FP classes. We politely ask that all KS2 parents respect the school’s policy for Healthy Eating and the Welsh Government recommendations through Appetite for Life and that they provide a healthy snack for playtime and water not juice for their children to drink throughout the day. Water is available for all pupils. We also ask that packed meals for lunch do not contain sweets or chocolates.

Current Covid restrictions in place, parents are required to provide their own child with a healthy snack.

The school has an After School Club which runs daily - Monday to Friday, 3.15 pm- 5.15 pm. EARLY YEARS PROVISION The School is an approved setting for Early

Education children. This enables children to receive funded education provision the term after their third birthday.

Children are admitted to Nursery during the academic year when they have their fourth birthday. Prior to entry, parents of the Early Years children are invited in to school for an informal introductory evening. They will receive an information booklet outlining the aims and activities of

the children.

The School is also a base for the local Tots and Toddlers group and Hanmer Playgroup. Currently suspended due to Covid.
