Youth Mass on Sunday, May 16 at 4:30 p.m.
We invite families with youth to a end the upcoming Youth Mass on Sunday, May 16 at 4:30 p.m. (moved to the 3rd Sun- day this month so you can honor Mother's Day on Sunday, May 9). Please register via the Flocknote link we send out later in the month or on the Parish website. We hope to see you there! The Presence of the Holy Spirit
We have a unique episode in the Acts of the Apostles today. A whole roomful of people are bap zed with the Holy Spirit before they are bap zed with water! The verb used—“the Holy Spirit ‘fell’ on them” (Acts 10:44)—is characteris c of the way the Spirit works throughout the book of Acts: powerful and surprising. Though this “bap sm” is not the norma ve way the New Testament describes bap sm, it is s ll a good reminder today that Saints and Special Observances the Holy Spirit is not controlled by whether or not we pour water, but rather that our sacramental signs reveal the presence of the Spirit at work among us. And we have Sunday: Sixth Sunday of Easter; Mother’s Day a double reinforcement of how this work is accomplished Monday: St. Damien de Veuster; St. John De Avila from a Le er and a Gospel bearing John’s name. It is love, Wednesday: Ss. Nereus and Achilleus; St. Pancras; self-sacrificing and self-giving love, that manifests the Eid al Fitr (Islamic observance) begins at Spirit of Jesus in our midst. It is love that is the greatest of sunset commandments. The Spirit is manifested equally through Thursda: Our Lady of Fa ma those who live in that love. ~Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
