Research and Teaching Impact on Society I greatly value making my research and expertise accessible to a wider audience. I have done so in a number of innovative ways. First and foremost, I have founded and maintained a blog on the European Convention on Human Rights ever since 2008 (www.echrblog.blogspot.com). It provides topical legal and academic information on European human rights law. The blog helps to disseminate academic knowledge to a broader audience and has become a leading resource in my field, attracting approximately 150,000 page views annually. Secondly, within the Young Academy I have co-founded a project which offers free academic lectures to the general public (www.kennisopstraat.nl) and I regularly lecture in primary and secondary schools. Finally, I was one of three researchers presenting my work in an exhibition on dilemmas of making peace, entitled ‘Peace of Cake?’ at Utrecht’s University Museum.
