The A470 Trunk Road (Llanrwst, ) (40 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2012

Made 9 February 2012 Coming into force 20 February 2012

The Welsh Ministers, as traffic authority for the A470 Maentwrog to east of Trunk Road (hereinafter referred to as “the trunk road”), in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 84 (1) and (2) and 124 of, and paragraph 27 of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1) (hereinafter referred to as “the 1984 Act”), and after consultation with the Chief Officer of the , hereby make the following Order:-

1. This Order comes into force on 20 February 2012. The title to this Order is The A470 Trunk Road (Llanrwst, Gwynedd) (40 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2012.

2. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour in that length of the A470 Trunk Road known as Betws Road, in Llanrwst, Gwynedd which extends in a south easterly direction from a point 50 metres south east of the centrepoint of its junction with the access road to the property known as ‘Plas Brith’ to a point 70 metres south east of the centrepoint of its junction with the unclassified, unnamed County Road leading to the B5427 and Melin y Coed.

3. The A470 Trunk Road (Llanrwst, Gwynedd) (De-Restriction) Order 1995(2) is hereby revoked.

4. The A470 Trunk Road (Llanrwst, Gwynedd) (De-Restriction) Order 1995 (Variation) Order 2000(3) is hereby revoked.

THE A470 TRUNK ROAD (LLANRWST, GWYNEDD) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2012

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Welsh Ministers have made an Order under sections 84 (1) and (2) and 124 of, and paragraph 27 of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which comes into force on 20 February 2012.

The effect of the Order is to impose a 40 mph speed limit on that length of the A470 Maentwrog to east of Conwy Trunk Road, known as Betws Road, at Llanrwst in Gwynedd, that extends in a south easterly direction from a point 50 metres south east of the centrepoint of its junction with the access road to the property known as ‘Plas Brith’ to a point 70 metres south east of the centrepoint of its junction with the unclassified unnamed County Road leading to the B5427 and Melin y Coed.

During a period of 6 weeks from 16 February 2012, a copy of the Order together with a plan may be inspected free of charge, during normal office hours at Llanrwst Library, Plas yn Dre, Station Road, Llanrwst LL26 0DF or may be obtained free of charge from the address below.
