I am happy to be writing this to you on this spring day full of promise for a very different, very much brighter 2021 season.

I am looking forward, as I am sure, are all of you, to a proper cricket summer this year – full of friends & family time, beers & picnics in the sunshine & above all, a season full of runs, boundaries and wickets (other people’s) & the sound of leather on willow. I am eager to get out on the Jackson Thompson, Cornwood CC crease & also to cheer everyone else Club Captain for 2021 season on, in what I hope will be a landmark winning season for our teams. To all our loyal supporters – it will be fantastic to see your familiar smiling faces as you cheer us on, beer in hand dodging those boundaries. The squad and I are employing a slightly new approach too with a focus on training for a positive, optimistic & focussed mindset as well as rigorous targeted physical game training.

So, let’s dust off our deck chairs, knock in our bats & get ourselves to The Wood!
